I’m worried this may be a little long, but it all seemed so short and sweet in my head!

I updated this so he turns his head for a bit longer.
Here’s my first go at my character’s walk cycle. I decided to color him in a bit so I could get a better look at how his appendages were moving. I think I’d like to make his movements a little more flowery and slow him down a bit, but I like the overall gait.
This was pretty difficult for me. It is challenging trying to come up with a compelling character. Sketching was fun though. The hardest part for me was settling on a name. I hope to develop my character further in the coming weeks.
This is Uli.
Uli is an adult with a very child-like air. He is inquisitive and easily distracted. He finds the most joy in walking around and collecting items from the ground to bring home and use to decorate his house, which is built from these items. He especially likes gemstones and other shiny rocks that add color and texture to his little world. He lives a solitary lifestyle and is content in that.
Here’s a looping animation of the ocean.
Here’s a ball bouncing off a little ledge. I added a bird and a surprise at the end. I drew an arc for the ball, then did pose to pose animation. I filled in the gaps with some frame by frame.
My ball bounce study for Intro to 2D Animation.
Here’s my first flipbook!
