- What are some examples of new literacies?
Messaging between people, social networking, posting blogs.
2. Look at our class google doc. Did any examples of new literacies surprise you? Are there any examples you disagree with?
If I am completely honest, I had no clue what “New Literacies” was.
3. what did you learn from this week’s assigned reading?
I learned that technology can help with literacy. Allowing students to research as well as letting students create media projects.
4. what did you learn from this week’s assigned TedTalk?
How quickly a photo can be taken from anywhere and be used in commercials or as a meme. How children now can easily do these things themselves.
5. What are some “New Literacies” that have helped you with your schooling? Explain
I would say online searches and messaging. Online searches allowed me to look up articles or photos I needed for class. Messaging allowed me to connect with other classes mates, regarding projects or assignments.
6. Have you ever had to help someone with technology (New Literacies) who was not tech savvy? What was that experience like?
To be honest I was never in a position where someone wasn’t tech savvy. I could say I’ve helped looked up things for my grandmother online because she needed information on something. Not sure if that falls under that umbrella.
7. What is one “New Literacies” that you cannot live without?
Online searching, being able to search whatever I need. Whether for school or for myself. News from around the world, where now it is easier to access.
8. Explain your personality using only three emojis- what would they be?
😂 🧐 🥱

Definitely agree with you with having no idea on what new literacies meant. I also agree with not being able to live without online searching because if I don’t know something, google is my best friend.
Hey Melissa, I agree with you about how technology actually helps us with researching, projects and everything in between. I know I’ve used google countless times for my for anything school related that I felt I didn’t understand. In today’s world it’s like would we do without WiFi? Where would we be without google?
Hi Marissa, I enjoyed reading your post. I agree with you on how technology has helped us all to be able to research out materials so much more. People do not realize the primary search for something on Google to bring up resources that would help so much. The access makes everything so much easier as well, everywhere I go there is no internet so I can connect to it with my computer and check my classes. The downside to everything is that it is so integrated into our lives that it is hard to live without.
I do apologize my autocorrect occurred.
