MISIÓN
Acentos Latinos, fundada en 2004, es la única revista literaria de BMCC escrita en español que sirve como vehículo de expresión creativa a todos/as aquellos/as estudiantes que quieren escribir en una lengua que o dominan o están aprendiendo.
Acentos Latinos responde en principio al enorme interés de la población latina de BMCC que encuentra en la revista importantes puntos de referencia lingüísticos, culturales y de identidad, pero también responde al creciente número de estudiantes interesados por la cultura hispana y la lengua española y que se sirven de la revista – como lectores o escritores– para aprender más de una y otra.
Acentos Latinos es una publicación seria y sólida que no discrimina a nadie en función de su etnicidad, género, edad, religión u orientación sexual, y que tiene confianza en la necesidad de un proyecto que contribuye a enriquecer el ambiente multicultural de BMCC.
Acentos Latinos invita a todos/as los/as estudiantes de BMCC a enviar trabajos para los próximos números de la revista. Pueden colaborar con ensayos, poemas, narraciones personales, cuentos o cuentos cortos. También se aceptan noticias, entrevistas y fotografías o dibujos. Envíenlo a cacentoslatinosbmcc@gmail.com
MISSION STATEMENT
Acentos Latinos, created in 2004, is the only literary magazine in Spanish at BMCC that serves as a vehicle for a multitude of students who want to express themselves and their creative aspirations in a language that they either master or are learning.
Acentos Latinos responds initially to the huge interest of the Latino population at BMCC, which in this magazine finds important reference points on language, culture, and identity. Further, it is a response to the increasing number of students interested in the Hispanic culture and the Spanish language in order to know more about it and use the magazine – as readers or writers– as an instrument for this purpose.
Acentos Latinos is a serious and sound publication that does not discriminate against anyone for their ethnicity, gender, age, religion, or sexual orientation, and which believes in the necessity of the project for the enrichment of the multicultural environment of BMCC.
Acentos Latinos invites all students at BMCC to submit their literary pieces for the forthcoming issues. You can send essays, poems, personal narrations, short stories, news, interviews, or art. You can submit your work via email to acentoslatinos@gmail.com
