Hi my name is Yvette, this is my Second Semester studying here at BMCC and my Major is Criminal Justice. I’m from the United States, I was born in Manhattan and raised in The Bronx. Both my Mom and Dad’s side of the family are ALL Dominican which makes me Dominican as well. I speak both English and Spanish. I am 19 years old. What I like to do on my free time is to go out to new places and try new foods. I also like to go on walks and listen to music on the bus or train. I am here to get all the credits I need to graduate.

Hi! My name is Yojalis Francisco. This is my second semester here at BMCC and my major is liberal art. I was born and raised at Dominican Republic. I enjoy watching movies with popcorn and candies with my two little sister in my free time. I also enjoy going out, and seeing new places.

Hello! My name is Vanessa Balbuena Montes. This is my second semester here at BMCC and my major is animation and motion graphics. I was born and raised in the United States. I was born on Staten Island, aka the forgotten borough. Coming from a Hispanic family, I speak both Spanish and English. A few of my hobbies are reading, drawing, and playing with my cat. A fun fact about me is that I’m a fraternal twin with a twin brother.

Hi! My name is Tiffany, this is my first semester at BMCC my major is Education. I enjoy reading books in my free time, my most recent read is ‘It starts with us’ by Collen Hoover. My favorite author is Rupi Kaur I enjoy reading her poem books. My favorite artists are Lana del Rey, Mitski, and Taylor Swift. My favorite song at the moment is ‘Ceilings’ by Lizzy McAlPine. I was born in Puerto Rico, but I’ve spent most of my life in New York.

Hi Everyone. I started my education at Norwalk Community College, then transferred to SUNY Purchase. I also hold an MA in Literature and a MS in Education, both from CCNY/ The City College of New York. I have been teaching for nearly 20 years: ESL to international students in private language schools in NYC, in public high schools in NYC, in CCNY, and, my most beloved one, teaching you at BMCC. I teach Literacy, Critical Thinking and Composition courses. I am always looking for ways to engage students, improve my classes, and learn new skills. I am sooooo glad I transitioned from Blackboard to the OpenLab, and from textbook-based courses to ZTC/ zero-textbook courses. In my free time, I love to read, write, and explore the world with my two spirited children, and with my partner. I look forward to getting to know you.

Hello everyone ! My name is Mariela Tsiropoulou, this is my second semester at BMCC and my mejor is Education , I want to become a preschool teacher. I’m half Dominican and half Greek , I speak both language Spanish and Greek. I enjoy my free time with my Ten-years old  daughter , we love to watch movies and going out  to eat . I always maintain a positive attitude towards any situation , I like listen to music when  I’m doing  workout at the gym and I love my family.

Hi my name is Kimberly Yascaribay, I like to go by Lizbeth which is my middle name. I am currently a first generation college student in my family. My parents are from Ecuador which makes me Ecuadorian as well, I love to go to Ecuador as a mini gateway from city and all the technology because when you go to Ecuador you meet new animals, new customs, new lifestyles, and you get to enjoy what Mother Nature has for us. I am currently on my first semester here at BMCC, my major is nursing. Since I was in middle school I developed a passion for nursing, I will always go to many internships in different hospitals and got a chance to visit different areas in the medical field and talk to doctors about there experience. I was raised in Queens, in my free time I love to go on adventures and play with my 6 month old puppy Luna. I also love to dance Ecuadorian folk dance, since I was 6 year old I found the passion for dancing and till this day that I am about to turn 20 in exactly 16 days I still love dancing and will continue dancing for many more years until my legs can’t no more. I love hearing music in Spanish and watching movies in Spanish.

Hi my name is Keily, this my first semester at BMCC and my major in accounting. I was born on Dominican Republic, and I came to the United States 4 years ago. Some of my favorite activities is watch movies and series, listen music, going out, and spend time with my family and friends.

Hi my name is Kadijatou I am 23-year-old and my major is nursing. I was born and raise in THE GAMBIA the smallest country in mainland west Africa. I speak mandinka and little English this is my first semester at BMCC.I love watching movies in my free time and also spending time with my siblings.

Hello Everyone. My name is Joyce and I’m 18 years old. I’m West Indian/American. I’ve always wanted to go back to school in Manhattan since I’ve moved from harlem. I’ve started going to bmcc in aug of 2022 and it’s been a great experience so far. As of right now I am a nurse undergrad majoring in nursing. I’m planning to become a pediatric nurse once graduating. I love speaking and making new friends once I’m comfortable enough with the class and I look forward to a good semester with you guys.

Hello everyone. My name is Jasmine Mckenzie. My major is Public Health. I was born and raised in Queens, NY. Both of my parents are from Jamaica so from time to time I would travel there. In my free time, I love to dance. I started dancing at a very young age which made me join many dancing programs in and out of school that ranged from dancing class, after school programs, cheerleading and many others. 

Hi, my name is Jamar, this is my Second quarter studying here at BMCC. This will be my first-time attending class in person. Major is Computer Science, I’m from the United States, I was born in Mt. Vernon Westchester and raised in Cape Coral, Florida. My mother is a Nurse, and my father is a retired military veteran. I speak English and I’m studying coding on my free time along with archery. I like to go to movie theaters with friends and shopping centers on my days off from work. I also like to go on walks and listen to music on the bus or train. I drive a 1996 Ford Mustang GT that I like to take road trips with on weekends. I am here to get all the credits I need to graduate and eventually become a Software Engineer one day.

Hi everyone my name Fils. Fils is my middle name, and I prefer going by that name rather than my first name. I am 18 years old and I’m from Haïti. It’s my second semester here at BMCC and I’m majoring in psychology. I am planning on pursing an education in psychology and use my degree to better assist people. I want to gain a better understanding of all the factors that can make someone into who they are, and with that knowledge I hope to be better equipped t to connect with others more and have a more understanding of myself. I’d like to become an author some day and I hope this class will help me towards that goal. I don’t read much but the two latest books I’ve read are “On The Come Up” by Angie Thomas and “Children Of Blood And Bone” by Toni Adeyemi.

Hey!my name is Freddy Herrera i’m half ecuadorian and hondurian but born here in NY, this is my second semester but my first year at BMCCmy goal is to finish college and begin my own company in garments and pieces of clothes but at the moment  i am a fashion model and designer but some hobbies or things i may enjoy is skateboarding and reading books at a secret spot i have close to my house or skating around the city and thrifting for clothes.

Hi Im Christopher this is my first year at BMCC. I’m really glad to be going back to school and very excited to meet new people here. I was born and raised here in NYC so I’m very in love with the city.  A little bit about me is I’m very into music and film and I LOVE PASTA. My parents are from Mexico, making me Mexican-American, learning spanish .My hobbies are video games, anime, listening to music?, movies/tv shows, and etc.

Hello everybody. My name is Anna. This is my first semester at BMCC. My major, I wish, will be Nursing but the way is so long and hard. I am Polish/American Citizen. I was born in Poland. I am living in NYC for half of my life. I like watching movies, listen to the music but traveling is my passion. I love to visit National Parks the most. My other passion is photography, most of it photograph of nature.

Hello ! My name is Analis Ponce, and I go by Ana. I am Mexican/American. I was born and raised in NY. I am on my second semester here at BMCC. My major is Paramedics. In my free time I love to cook, eat, clean and go to sleep. I also love going on walks and discovering new places to go eat with a few friends. I love listening to music.  I read whenever I am on the train. I love reading poetry books and non-fiction books.

Hello my name is Alex and I’m currently a sophomore at BMCC. As of right now I’m majoring in criminal justice and still haven’t decided on what to focus on yet in the criminal justice field. I was born and raised in queens, queens always been my home. In my free time I like to play video games with my boys and also go workout one of the things I enjoy doing as of right now.

Hello everyone, my name is Ajla Cirkovic. This is my first semester studying at BMCC and I plan to major in Accounting. I was born in the Bronx, and raised in Washington Heights. My family is from a country called Montenegro, located in Southeastern Europe. I know two languages, English and Montenegrin. Some of my favorite activities to do are watching movies, going out, and spending quality time with my family.

Hello everybody, My name is Abdenasser Abdrabbo, I’m 25 years old. I’m an Egyptian/Moroccan/American Citizen. I was born and raised in Al-Fayoum – Egypt. I’m currently serving in the USAR. I enjoy watching Movies, Anime, And Programming. i also love problem solving. I’m pursuing a computer science degree. My career goal is to get a title senior in less than 5 years
