1. How does the author feel about her writing abilities?
The author Shannon Nichols, feels that her writing abilities are good and one of her “strengths”, also with the fact that she loves writing . Shannon explains how all her English teachers enjoyed her writing and getting good grades, even a poem she wrote was shown on television. Although after failing two proficiency test, Shannon has not had the same passion for writing, instead she started hating writing.
2. How does the author feel about the standardized tests?
Shannon Nichols feelings toward standardized tests were that she did not like them. The two proficiency tests she failed made her doubt her ability of writing and not feel a love of writing. Shannon also doesn’t like the people grading the standardized test.
5. Has there been a time in your life when you doubted your abilities as a writer?
Yes there has been a time or times I doubted my abilities as a writer. Usually doubting my writing abilities after a essay/test grade that was bad. Another being how I fail in the simple steps/ learning blocks of being a better writer, or pace of how long it takes to write something.
6. How do you feel about your writing abilities?
The way I feel about my writing abilities are that it is solid, not bad or great. The reason is because I just need to work on the basics more, not overthinking. I need to work harder, but in my own pace; be more open in writing because I have many ideas or ways to write, but I just keep it locked away.
