CONVERSATION 3, ANALIS PONCE

According to Giovanni Luca Ciampaglia and Filippo Menczer, social media is plagued with fake news and misinformation, which can be intentional or accidental. They have identified three types of bias that contribute to this problem: Bias in the brain, Bias in Society, and Bias in the machine. Bias in the brain refers to how people’s minds can be drawn to low-quality information or influenced by emotions. Bias in Society involves how peers can spread misinformation intentionally or unintentionally. Finally, Bias in the Machine explains how algorithms prioritize what people see based on what is popular or engaging.

RESPONSE
I use social media everyday on news, updates and even announcements thats going on around the world. I read alot of posts daily based on who I follow. If I see the news more than once I search it up on the web to find out if its true or false. Usually there is alot of fake news in the media outlets. One thing I would change it would be the fake sources and news.
