The article “Women’s Surfing Riding Wave Towards Gender Equality” by Thrope and Wheaton discusses the progress made in the world of women’s surfing towards achieving gender equality and highlights the challenges that still need to be addressed.
i will be including this article in my argumentative essay to reinforce my idea of feminism and equal pay for women.
The Lancet. (2019). Feminism is for everybody. The Lancet (British Edition), 393(10171), 493–493. https://doi.org/10.1016/S0140-6736(19)30239-9
This article “Feminism is for Everybody” written by The Lancet concludes a variety of points that expresses the many obstacles women are put through to prove themselves in science, medicine, and global health. As quoted by bell hooks, “To be ‘feminist’ in any authentic sense of the term is to want for all people, female and male, liberation from all sexist role patterns, domination, and oppression.”
I will include this source into my argumentative essay as I believe it will further strengthen my argument on how women are viewed as less than when compared to men. This article focuses on how women are under-represented in positions of power and leadership, as well as how women face discrimination and gender based violence in scientific and health disciplines across the world.

I will include these in my essay to reinforce the ideas of equality and gender neutrality.
In the article “women in prison” by Sarah Glazer talks about how women that are accused of selling drugs and goes to prison because of that, are actually innocent but because they boyfriend sells the drug they get accused just because they are related. and also sometimes there are evidence that shows that they were domestic abuse and still the judge decided that they need to go to prison and pays for men actions.
I will include this article in my Argumentative essay because it talks about how women are discriminated and how the government don’t validate the abuse against women.

according to Jonne Jacson Feminism is a complex set of ideologies and theories, that at its core seeks to achieve equal social, political, and economic rights for women. Although feminism benefits everyone, its aim is to achieve equality for women, because prioritizing those who are most oppressed means freeing everyone else. Since men’s rights are already secured and institutionally protected, feminism does not aim to help men. feminism does not only protect woman but also protect men’s as well. This may help me make some argument on this topic (1 Adichie, Chimamanda Ngozi. “We Should All Be Feminists.” Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie: We Should All Be Feminists | TED Talk, https://www.ted.com/talks/chimamanda_ngozi_adichie_we_should_all_be_feminists.

“The Iranian Government Has Impeded the Advancement of Women’s Rights” this article discusses how the politics of Islamic country affect the advance of women’s right. I chose to use this article in my argumentative essay because I think that inequality towards women in Islamic countries is excessive. Women cannot make decisions on their own, but a male relative decides on their behalf.

Reasons as to why I used Adiche because it was the first source I had at my disposal, it was easy to understand and very straight to the point. Her views and claims were accurate and congruent with what I wanted to portray in my Argumentative essay.
2)Young, Cathy. Stop Fem-Splaining: What ‘Women Against Feminism’ Gets Right
https://time.com/3028827/women-against-feminism-gets-it-right/
I used Cathy’s article because it was the second source provided, and also because it was straight to the point, There were multiple concepts that I could add and chose to use for my opposing side.
3)My mother’s personal experience
A reason as to why I used a personal experience rather than an outside, one was because I wanted to connect my essay at a personal level. I want my readers to understand how easily and often women face discrimination and oppression. It happening to my mother a very close relative was just the cherry on top for my essay.
