To begin with in the article/text According to Giovanni Luca Ciampaglia and Filippo Menczer’s article, “Misinformation and Biases Infect Social Medial, Both Intentionally and Accidentally,” unrestricted access, an abundance of data, and a lack of regulations when it comes to online publishing expose us to false information and biased news. Three types of bias—bias in the brain, prejudice in society, and bias in the machine—have been proven in studies to increase the fragility of social platforms. Due to these biases, people may spread information without first confirming its accuracy or vetting it against the viewpoint of those in their social circle. The author experienced this firsthand since she was duped by false information on social media and is now more knowledgeable about the problem. and so the main idea in the text is how in order to prevent disinformation, we need to teach our brains to double-check information before sharing it to anyone in the world.
