Introduction | Olivia De Salvo

I studied classical acting at HB Studio after high school and then worked in theater for a while. I transitioned to playing music and now have a self-titled project composed of folk/dreampop music. I sing and play guitar and am primarily accompanied by a cellist and synth player. This is my third part-time semester at BMCC. I recently changed my major from Jazz & Popular Music to Liberal Arts because I realized I want a more well-rounded education. I wish to transfer to CUNY Baccalaureate to study an interdisciplinary focus of Philosophy, Folklore, and Creative Therapeutics. I admire artists like Meredith Monk and Laurie Anderson and want to study Jungian analysis and how dreams and archetypes influence art. I love to read and write and want to write a musical one day soon. I hope I posted this introduction in the correct category!
