Summary

9. According to poet Ali, “the language of being the minority…one of the most important languages you can ever speak in your life”. Ali says, “how you feel in that position of compromise will directly determine how you act in that position of power”.(4) This is a language I can speak because me being black and Puerto Rican will defiantly come with some form of prejudice. Thankfully I haven’t had to deal with any extreme forms of prejudice and profiling but I know people who have.

10. Towards the end of the ted talk poet Ali refers to a language as being the most spoken language yet the toughest at the same time. According to Ali, ““No matter how many books, how many seminars, how many life-coaching sessions we go to, we just can’t get enough of it.”(5) The language her is referring to is love because it is a universal language but in this day in age you could receive backlash for supporting someone or something while at the same time some don’t show love due to fear of being hurt.
