What the word feminist means to me is when someone who supports the equal rights for women or all gender. I support this movement if it means for women to have the same respect as men. Both men and women should have the same value and respect without having to face any gender discrimination. What do you mean gender discrimination? Woman’s are known to be a “housewife” while Men are known for “supporting the family”. In my opinion both can do it, they can help each other out.
In the article “We Should All Be Feminist” by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, she gives out situations that had/has happened in her life or other woman’s life’s. For example her not be able to go alone to a bar or club without an accompanied from a man. Which i think it’s unfair. Anyone can go to a club with or without a man. Another example will have to be when a man gets paid more then the woman even tho they work the same job. That a little bias if i say so myself. Both should be getting the same amount of pay. One of Adichie quotes that I like is ” I have chosen to no longer be apologetic from my femaleness and for my femininity. And I want to be respected in all of my femaleness because I deserve to be”. To me this feels like she standing up for herself and her being to express herself without any worry or judgment.
