Adichie shares with us the depths of feminism and how women are treated in their workplace & cultures. Women are treated as if they do not matter. As if they cannot have a bigger or equal to impact as men. Hearing this opened my eyes to so much more. I always knew men were treated better than women but i never realized how far it actually goes. When Adichie mentions that “ when a woman says ‘i did it for peace in my marriage,’ she’s usually talking about having given up a job, dream or career” that opened my eyes to how many women hold themselves back for peace within their relationships with men. Men don’t usually have to give up their dreams in life for the sake of their wife. Yet, women do; due to male ego or having to support the home itself. There so much more value in us than what is portrayed. Adichies ted talk shed light to so much things that get ignored.

I agree completely to the fact that Adichies TedTalk was able to shed light on so many issues. I also agree that woman are sadly expected to sacrifice things for men overall in many cultures a lot of the norms are catered towards men. Woman aren’t expected to be served or be higher in position then men and for this exact reason feminism is what allows us to speak up and address these issues amongst our societys gender roles. Because woman have the potential for so much more than simply aiding men.
