In my understanding I take feminism as believing women should have equal rights as men. This meaning that they should be able to share the same opportunities, without having to face any discrimination due to their gender. This holds wait in the world today because, married women are pictured to be the cook, cleaner, and take care of children, while men mainly carry the burden of being the provider. Adichie described how even though both the husband and wife can be working the same position at a job and making the same salary, the wife would still be pictured as the housewife. Men can also carry the role of being nurturing and the cleaner, so it’s really a stereotype that women have been fighting against. Both men and women should have economic and social equality.
