They want people to feel motivated to share their unique moments and experiences on the app. By investing millions of dollars snapchat wants to encourage users to be more active and creative on the platform. But my experience with snapchat has been good but recently I've stopped using it because i really lost the fun for it and the app is becoming really dry. I still have the app but I would really only use it for the camera thats mostly it.
