summary
In this article, the author Shannon Nichols shares a couple of experiences about her high school life about writing and reading. In her high school life, she believed she had a good ability to handle writing tests, but unfortunately, she failed twice, even after the first failure, she moved on quickly and worked harder on writing, but the second failure destroyed her confidence in writing. Therefore, she never felt love and passion in reading and writing anymore.
When we are teenagers, young people always have their passion for something and don’t want to feel any failure in their love. In my opinion, the writer fails twice and loses love and passion in writing and reading is a normal feeling to anybody. There is a saying “Success is a temporary happiness in our life, but failure is like a shadow that always stays with us”. People need to have a stronger heart, face the failure straight then beat it.
I also feel that being a good writer is a big challenge for me; because of the education I got in my Chinese middle school and high school is a very lower level, I barely learned any academic vocabulary, we never needed to write a 3 page essay to pass English test, so I lack vocabulay and grammar knowledge, but no pains no gains, I believe if I keep the passion on learning English, it shouldn’t a problem to me.

I like how you compared what was talked about In conversation 1 to your own experiences in middle school, and high school, when talking about how you could take some advice from what Shannon went through in your own learning.
