Shannon had great faith in her writing, she knew her worth behind her work. But now she is self conscious about her work.
Shannon hates Standardized test. She don’t like the idea of not passing it, also the fact she don’t know where she is going wrong at. They will just mark her as failed but not tell her where she could’ve done better at. Shannon hates the fact, one test proves how smart you are.
Shannon was an amazing writer, who put her passion out there too early before it can fully develop the strong mindset you suppose to build before putting yourself out there. Shannon was queen of Writing and reading, but when it came to her skills, Shannon will be tested to her fullest potential. Can Shannon pass the test to learn she is truly undefeated when it comes to Writing, or will she meet her match.
With my writing abilities, I know I’m not the best of the best. But that’s the best part for me. I love being different in my own way, connecting to my readers. I love giving my work to writers who can give me strong honest feed back. The writing I do is raw, unique, intense. What makes my work so perfect, that it’s not perfect. You have no expectations for me, just love my work enough to just want more.

Hey Rose! You did a great job of summarizing ‘Proficiency’ by Shannon Nichols. It was hard to see Nichols go from confident and proud in her ability to being doubtful and ashamed of her both her performance in her three tests as well as what she believes now that she doesn’t have ability. Although it’s unfortunate to see, I understand where she is coming from because I probably would have had the same thought process especially at that age. When it comes to your writing, don’t start that you’re not the greatest! Be confident in your writing. Always remember your people/audience will find you and even if you do have things to improve on don’t lose your true essence when you are writing.
