My name is Christian Torres and my relationship is 50/50 when it come to reading and writing. The reason for this is that I just don’t like reading, I feel that I cant because I cant stay focused if the passage or book I’m reading isn’t interesting to me. If the book I’m reading is boring I wont exactly remember what I read, so I would likely like to read it out loud or have a discussion on it because I feel like the information sinks in more. When it it comes to reading something like the passages on the state test, I don’t like reading them because there not engaging and I feel like this best way to learn something or analyze what your reading is to make students feel like there involved in a way to make it more engaging. It would be good to impose topics or situations that people could relate to. Last year in my English class we read Catcher in the Rye and it was a really good in my opinion because it was something I could relate to and it was as formal, it was more raw and realistic than other books would be. When it comes to writing I’m fine with writing, I feel like my writing skills are pretty good. I feel confident in my ability to write about different topics. I would feel more strongly on my skills if it was something that allows for my to make assumptions or suggest thought’s on the book or passage due to it being able to allow for more creativity. I’ve done a lot of writing assignments and things of that nature when I was younger as I did in high school since I took a law class which required forms of argumentative writing in order to portray what side is more believable.
