Summary
At the beginning of the story "Proficiency" the author felt confident in her writing, but as time in high school went, she fail the writing exam two times, she than later on felt disappointed and doubt her self as it was one of the strength she was good at. The author felt carless about her standardized test. " I stopped taking English seriously, perhaps because of that lack of seriousness, I earned a 2 on the Advance Placement English Exam". The author Shannon Nichols was a smart kid she was on honor roll during elementary and middle school. As the test was a challenge she has pass everything but her writing, she was in disbelief. The second she took it she has fail it this time she cry and went to her teacher and ask why she fail, she never got her answer. By the third time she pass her exam but she no longer felt the love she had for writing. She felt like a failure, if she knew what she did wrong maybe she would have not give up. If I was Ms. Brown I would of told her (to not feel discourage we could learn from our mistakes and learn from them and make them better). There was a time where I had trouble writing, I didn't know how to grab a reader attention, or how to write a very good intro. I feel okay with my writing abilities just need to update my vocabulary and make less grammar mistakes.

Hi Rose, I like your summary. It is precise and concise. Your encouragement is touching. I believe you overcame the trouble in your writing and retain the passion of writing.
Hi Rose,
I apologize for my misbehaviour. I uploaded the picture of my avatar in my reply but I didn’t realise it also change your post’s thumbnail. I am really sorry for that.
Hi Rose, I would want to continue my thoughts of your experience. I did have a similar time that had trouble in writing. I have similar issues that you had before. I remember that one of my instructors suggested a method and that is the draft. She said drafting is a way to improve the intro and grammar progressively. It could make our writing become a well-organized essay by correcting our mistakes.
