Jeyslin Acosta

Hello, I’m Jeyslin. The name is pronounced Jay-slean, but you can call me “Jess” if you prefer. My major is nursing, and I am a first-year student at the BMCC. One main reason why I am taking this course is not just because it is one of my requirements but also because I want to get better at my English writing. English is not my first language; even though I was born in the United States at first, it was very hard to be a middle child, raised as the oldest daughter, in a Hispanic household. I am a Honduran-American raised in Queens, where I live, close to the beach. which is very convenient when I just want to walk on the board when i want to have some alone time

In my free time, I enjoy sleeping, and I often feel like I do not get enough of it. Additionally, I work part-time as a server at IHOP, so if anyone wants any free pancakes, please let me know. In recent times, I have discovered a penchant for various hobbies, but I tend to quickly lose interest once I become bored with them. I sometimes paint when I want to relax. Im very into art and craft such as origami and DIY.

I hope to meet everyone in this class so that we can thrive together and help each other out, not a very talkative person at first, but trust me once I get comfortable in the environment that I am in, you can get to see that im a very friendly person that cares a lot.
