Topic: Feminism
Audience: The reader of my essay
Intro: (hook, intro to topic, thesis statement)
Hook – Growing up in a culture in which traditional gender roles are the norm, feminism has allowed me to recognize the unlimited potential I as a woman can have defying the norm in the culture.
Intro to topic – Feminism addresses any problems with gender as it is today and influences others to want to aim for change.
Thesis Statement – It is necessary for us all to partake in feminism because it is important and needed in our society in order to address problems with gender and influence for a change.
Topic sentence 1: Feminism allows us to open the conversation on the issue gender has created by conforming roles to certain genders creating an imbalance of power.
Supporting Evidence: “ I know a woman who has the same degree and the same job as her husband, when they get back from work she does most of the house work, which I think is true for many marriages.”
Topic sentence 2: Feminism also aims for inclusivity as it addresses the harm gender roles can create to the boys of our society.
Supporting Evidence: “We do a great disservice to boys on how we raise them; we stifle the humanity of boys.”
Topic sentence 3/ Opposing Viewpoint: Many may argue that overall the term feminism shuts out inclusivity and thus creates greater division amongst others.
Supporting Evidence: “ When someone tells me they’re a feminist, I take it to mean that they see extreme differences between men and women and not so much our similarities.”
Conclusion: (paraphrase your thesis, and explain why this topic matters)
Overall feminisms role, influence, and impact can help everyone by acknowledging issues and making those who recognize these issues strive for change. This is needed not only to address the issues with the female gender but also to focus on the damage these roles can create to males overtime, understanding what we must all do as a society for a change.
Hello Katherine,
I agree with you. Fighting for equality should not be stopped until there’s a change. We should all be equal.
Topic: Should we all(everyone) be feminists?
Audience: non-feminists
Intro: (hook, intro to topic, thesis statement) What is the first thing you thought when you see “Feminist”? I remembered that someone told me that he immediately thought about the game “The Last of Us 2” and SJW. Social Justice Warrior, also called as SJW. They are aggressive liberal promoters. Part of people have claimed the feminist only criticize men to empower women instead of empowering women with equal rights. In my opinion, Social Justice Warrior is not equal to Feminist. I would want to clarify the definition of feminist. Feminists are the person that support feminism and point out problems of gender. SJW does not represent the whole group of Feminist. Feminism is not a reverse discrimination but the defender of subordinate group-female’s right. Thus, people that looking for the equal and right should be feminist.
Topic sentence 1: Women are still the group that being oppressed in different countries.
Supporting Evidence: Adichie’s experience in Africa (examples of gender discrimination), hijab laws in Iran (research)
Topic sentence 2: Feminism is focusing on the equality, which is having same rights and be treated as men, to create better future both to men and women.
Supporting Evidence: Adichie’s points toward raising children differently, Cairo’s point toward similarities between girls and boys.
Topic sentence 3/ Opposing Viewpoint: The value of person should base on ability; we should not have any prejudice due to the gender.
Supporting Evidence: Adichie’s point toward gender difference of opportunity, Example of first UK female prime minister, Margaret Hilda Thatcher.
Conclusion: (paraphrase your thesis and explain why this topic matters) The world has changed; much research has shown that there is no difference of gender in ability or knowledge. Thus, women should have same right and responsibility to men. Being feminist is simple. Once you willing to remove prejudice and gender discrimination in this world, then you are feminist. Equal of gender could bring value, identity and dignity of individual. That is beneficial to both individual and society. That is why we should be the feminist.
ALHASSANE SOUMAHORO
Feminism
I will be talking about feminism, antifeminism, and those who are in between. You, the reader of this letter, do you think we should all be feminists? It is ok if you do not think so. But, please read this letter with an open mind. I believe you will have a reason to be a feminist.
Why we should all be feminists? We should all be feminists because females are human beings and they deserve to be treated as they should. How would you feel as a man if your right is being taken away from you? Even though, is there any law that says we should not be treated equally? That females are less than men. Men and women are not built the same. women and men have both different qualities. I believe men are stronger than women and women give birth which men can not do. Imagine the procedure of pregnancy to birth, this is another way of being strong. Adichie states that she was been discriminated against in her own country not because she did something wrong but, because she is a female. “I got the highest score on the test, a boy who had the second highest score on the test would be the monitor.” ( Adichie 4). The rule was that whoever won the highest score had to be a man to be the monitor because the person who won the highest score was female. All these are not to let a female lead. “We expect those girls to bring the perfect man to be their husbands.” ( Adichie 7). What about expecting the boys to bring perfect women to be their wives? Is it because the boys are perfect and can never be wrong in making choices? No, we are all humans and we all make bad decisions.
We should not be feminists. We should not be feminists because, saying the word feminist or non-feminist may offend people who do not identify themselves as men or women, but identify as something else. “Girl and Boy Clothes, Girls and Boys Color.” (Cairo 14). They believe there should be no gender binary. So let’s avoid the word feminism by not being specific about gender.
What is feminism? Feminism is someone who respects human beings and gives them their right. “A man or woman who says there is a problem with gender, we must fix it.” (Adichie 10). I believe some people take advantage of the word feminism to revenge themselves against men in general because of their personal history with men. Which is wrong. Not all the men are the same. I believe any man who respects human beings is a feminist.
Overall, Adichie states that we should use the word feminism because men and women should have the same rights and should be equal. Cairo states that we should not use the word feminism because is being discriminated against those who do not identify in gender. I believe we should use the word feminism to Identify those who do not respect human rights and women. they are better than women.
Topic: Should we all be feminists
Audience: Feminist or non feminist
Intro: (hook, intro to topic, thesis statement)
What are the conflicts of feminism and how it has affected us in society? The term feminism is the social and political movement that advocates for the rights of women as well as the equality of sexes. Feminism back then was being able to give rights to women to vote so that their voices are able to be heard as well just like men did. Feminism is important for us women because it gives us that opportunity to be heard based on what our thoughts might be depending on the topics that can be discussed. Also women should have the power to defend themselves from anything or anyone since it shows the bravery that all women should have. In some cases we are all people that have things in common but some people have different points of view when having to talk about if we should all be feminists or not? Some people that are Feminists say that it shouldn’t apply to women but men as well since we are all one society in which we are all equal people that should be able to have the same rights no one should have to overpower a gender.
Topic sentence 1: Feminism should apply to all genders because we are all one society.
Supporting Evidence: “ Gender matters. Men and Women experience the world differently.Gender colors the way we experience the world. But we can change that”.(pg 9)
Topic sentence 2: Feminism shows that there is a problem with gender equality.
Supporting Evidence: “So,if equality is what we want then equality is the word we should be using because when we change the language we change the movement”. (pg 16)
Topic sentence 3/ Opposing Viewpoint:Some people may think that feminism should be women that are able to have the same rights as men.But others may not support the idea that depending on the gender that there should be a change in gender equality.
Supporting Evidence: “Yes, there’s a problem with gender as it is today and we must fix it.We need to do better”. (pg10)
Conclusion: (paraphrase your thesis, and explain why this topic matters)In Conclusion, this is why I think that feminism should be all equal for both men and women because at the end of the day we are people that have the rights to defend ourselves from anything that comes across our lines. This is why we should all be feminists because there is a lot of gender equality that needs to be fixed.

Topic: The necessity of feminism
Audience: All human being
Intro: (hook, intro to topic, thesis statement): The word “feminism” can be traced back to the early 1800s. Around 200 years ago, women started to use the term “feminism” to discuss and advocate for equal rights for themselves. According to “We should all be feminists” by Adichie, the author gives us many examples that why feminism is a key factor in maintaining human society. Society treats women in different sight, working in a hotel alone would be assumed as a sex worker and women can’t join the club if there is no man company. Adichie also gives us advice, like people should raise children in the same way, and education should be changed when they as children. Women should find their value, not only sacrifice for family. On the contrary, according to “Why I am not a feminist” by Cairo, she doesn’t identify herself as a feminist, and rather than say she is an equalist, she thinks the word “feminist” is outdated and has no meaning, women should change the language as “equality”, and then they can change the movement. In my opinion, I believe feminism is still an important idea to the whole gender that can remain a vital force for societal progress. So, I agree with Adichie, that feminism is still necessary to our society.
Topic sentence 1: We must raise our daughters differently. We must also raise our sons differently.
Supporting Evidence: Ardichi says education should be the same for boys and girls, we can’t teach a girl not to have too much ambition or not to be successful, but aim for boys, teach them should be a “hard man”, pay more money at all times.
Topic sentence 2: Because the sad truth is that when it comes to appearance we start off with man as the standard, as the norm.
Supporting Evidence: This world is not ruled by men, women also should have their unique style anywhere, most importantly, we can not use men’s standards to constrain women.
Topic sentence 3/ Opposing Viewpoint: Gender qualifiers get in the way and so does the word “feminism”.
Supporting Evidence: Gender-neutral is more popular, instead, feminism is too strict and has too much bias.
Conclusion: (paraphrase your thesis, and explain why this topic matters): To sum up, throughout history, women acted as great mothers, always being general in the family and always being offered less than demand. They behave as a great personal for everyone. We need to offer them equal treatment.
Topic: Misconceptions of feminism
Audience: People against feminism
Intro: (hook, intro to topic, thesis statement) I would like to introduce you to a new view on feminism that focuses on the effective side and how it benefits both men and women.
Topic sentence 1: Feminism is used to remove the division between men and women.
Supporting Evidence: “What if both boys and girls were raised not to link masculinity with money? What if the attitude was not “the boy has to pay” but rather “whoever has more should pay?” and “I know a woman who decided to sell her house because she didn’t want to intimidate a man who might marry her.”
Topic sentence 2:
Supporting Evidence:
Topic sentence 3/ Opposing Viewpoint: Some misconceptions of feminism would be that it isn’t inclusive.
Supporting Evidence: “The word ‘feminism’ subscribes to a very strict male or female gender binary. When someone tells me they’re a feminist, I take it to mean that they see extreme differences between men and women and no so much our similarities.”
Conclusion: (paraphrase your thesis, and explain why this topic matters)
In conclusion these misconceptions hold the movement itself back.
Topic: Should we all be Feminist
Audience: Non-Feminist/feminist
Intro: (hook, intro to topic, thesis statement)
What was not accepted in the past is now more accepted and supported for women in the present. We should all be Feminist because we should be able to acknowledge the transformation women has had over the years. Within their appearance, success, and stability. Women’s “roles” are evolving and are becoming more known for everyone to see the change.
Topic sentence 1: Feminism is either a man or woman who are aware of the gender seperation of inequality between men and women and wants to change it.
Supporting Evidence:”Yes, there’s a problem with gender as it is today, and we must fix it. We must do better”
Topic sentence 2: Being a feminist means that your gender matters and you wanna stand up for what you believe, that all genders should have the same opportunities just as the other.
Supporting Evidence: ” Men and Women experience the world differently. Gender colors the way we see experience the world. But we can change that.
Topic sentence 3/ Opposing Viewpoint: On the other side many non-feminists believe that the word “Feminism” should not exists because what we truly want is “Equality”
Supporting Evidence: “So, if equality is what we want, then equality is the word we should be using because when we change the language, we change the movement”.
Conclusion: (paraphrase your thesis, and explain why this topic matters)
Therefore I truly believe that we should all be feminist because more things have to change for men and women to be more equal with one another. Every human being doesn’t need to be treated differently based on gender or body parts, we should be one as people. As the world continues to change, so should our goals as a society.
Intro: Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s “We Should All Be Feminists” and Betsy Cairo’s “Why I Am Not a Feminist” offer readers two different takes on feminism and an informed testing of this detailed broad movement. Adichie’s essay is a powerful call to action, arguing that feminism should be generally supported in order to eliminate gender-based inequality. Adichie challenges current prejudices and highlights the importance of establishing a more equal and welcoming world by drawing on personal experiences and smart observations.
Topic sentence 1: Feminism is a historical political and social movement of women who spoke for personal equality between sexes.
Supporting Evidence: Adichie’s provides evidence through reflections on social expectations and gender norms, emphasizing the personal and collective benefits of embracing feminism.
Topic sentence 3/ Opposing Viewpoint: People think people shouldn’t be feminists.
Supporting Evidence: Thoughts on feminism are different, and those who think that people shouldn’t be feminists can have a number of different motivations. It’s crucial to remember that there are a lot of opinions on feminism and that not everyone who does not identify as a feminist is automatically against the key concepts of gender equality.
Conclusion: The debate of whether or not a person should be recognized as a feminist is a matter of opinion that is affected by a wide range of parts, such as settings of culture, personal experiences, and beliefs. There are good reasons for accepting feminism, like fighting for equality between men and women and tearing down systems of discrimination, but there are also good reasons why some people might decide not to identify as feminists. Some worries might be the result of incorrect views about feminism, feelings of isolation, or opposition to change.
Topic: Should everyone be a feminist?
Audience: Feminists
Intro: (hook, intro to topic, thesis statement) Feminism, in its most basic form, finds its origins from the beginnings of history as we know it. For centuries, women have found a common goal in protesting misogyny and advocating for basic equality and rights. Though modern-day feminism keeps true to its original goals, the new waves of social media activism, gender exploration, and “cancel culture” have worked their way into the movement. We now find ourselves amid a new generation of feminists that, while hoping to incorporate all those who share the frustrations of those before them, have also managed to unintentionally hold exclusionist views regarding race and gender. As it stands today, most people think of a feminist as your typical cisgender white female; however, for feminism to truly be as impactful as it could be, it must be known that female-identifying people of all backgrounds and identities can feel safe in such a space. While the common position is that all of us should be feminists in today’s society, the advocation for equal rights transcending both targeted race and gender is a more appropriate stance in the 21st century.
Topic sentence 1: The feminist movement has overlooked those who find themselves outside of the conventional gender binary.
Supporting Evidence: “When someone tells me they’re a feminist, I take it to mean that they see extreme differences between men and women and not so much our similarities.”
Topic sentence 2: By combining the struggles of those from all different backgrounds, we get rid of the potential for anti-feminist/anti-equality supporters to find fault in the beliefs we carry.
Supporting Evidence: “The gay marriage movement began decades ago, but calling it gay marriage by the media … allowed its adversaries to focus on the differences between opposite-sex and same-sex marriage.”
Topic sentence 3/ Opposing Viewpoint: Many, like Adichie, can argue that feminism allows for the dissolution of the toxic masculinity we teach young men and the shameful valuations we force upon young women.
Supporting Evidence: “Boys and girls are undeniably different biologically, but socialization exaggerates the differences and then it becomes a self-fulfilling process.”
Conclusion: (paraphrase your thesis, and explain why this topic matters) Many people take the stance that feminism is an all-encompassing movement which can further help alleviate the burden put on both men and women by living in such a patriarchal society. However, by opening the fight for freedom to include those from all genders and backgrounds, we can better take a stand against the system that continues to suppress our basic human rights. Living in today’s society, it has become exceedingly common that we find ourselves marching the streets, advocating for equality and the right to live in a world where we can all be seen as respected equals. Equalism and its defense of everyone, no matter gender, race or other identifier, is a unifying way of reaching our overall goals as a global community.
Topic: Should we all be feminist
Audience: everyone
Intro: (hook, intro to topic, thesis statement)feminist is the word the we used to call all the woman who feels uncomfortable with most of the position they the society have put them, which are, they require to pay them the same amount of money in some jobs, or having the same acknowledge wherever they go same as the man ,etc.
Topic sentence 1: Why feminist is a joke.
Supporting Evidence: Most of the woman who claim and made themself call feminist are those woman who doesn’t like how the society treat them and ask to be treated as a men, etc. but when there is hard decision to make, war to fight, land to defend, where you have to put your life in risk or when the government say woman are able to leave the country but mans must stay to fight and protect our land, none of them feminist say i am disagree with this rule we all must be treated with the same rights and benefits.
Topic sentence 2: Feminist victimize themselves.
Supporting Evidence: Some critics argue that elements within the feminist movement encourage women to adopt a victim mentality, which, in their view, undermines women’s agency and resilience. This perspective is supported by instances where certain aspects of feminism have been critiqued for overemphasizing victimhood, potentially limiting open discourse and personal growth.
Topic sentence 3/ Opposing Viewpoint: feminist is need it.
Supporting Evidence: Feminist is need it in this society , the reason why is that with the past of the year woman have been seen like a second option only for been woman and not for what they have to offer which have awake a group courageous and valiant woman who cant take anymore punishment from the society only for been the weakest gender or for not been qualify for some jobs that require more man then woman and for because is hard and not every woman can do for this particular reason they attempt to pay more which is reasonable.
Topic: What is Feminism?
Audience: Non Feminist/ Feminist
Intro: (hook, intro to topic, thesis statement)
In this generation feminism is a popular topic most youth know. Few people have agree or disagree with this topic. Some say feminism has lost its meaning by “discriminating man” which is not true. The word feminism means equality of sexes.
Topic sentence 1: women can’t go outside without an accompanied with men, visit bars and cafes without a convoy of men,
Supporting Evidence: “They just don’t let you in if you’re a woman alone, you have to be accompanied by a man”
Topic sentence 2: A major role on gender and parenting
Supporting Evidence: “we must raise our daughter differently. We must raise our sons differently.:
Topic sentence 3/ Opposing Viewpoint: Gender qualifiers is known for its gender of man and woman but not for others the gender.
Supporting Evidence: “We put gender qualifiers on a lot of things”.
Conclusion: (paraphrase your thesis, and explain why this topic matters)
In conclusions, this topic matters because of the misconceptions on feminism
Topic: everyone should be a feminist
Audience: to all who are feminist and non feminist
Intro: (hook, intro to topic, thesis statement)
Feminism has helped me realize the limitless potential I as a woman may have to break the norm in a culture where traditional gender norms are the standard, having grown up in one.
thesis : Feminism addresses all issues related to gender as it exists now and motivates others to work for change.
Supporting Evidence: “I believe this is true for many marriages; I know a woman who works the same job and has the same degree as her husband, and she takes care of most of the housework after they get home from work.”
Second topic sentence: While addressing the harm gender norms may do to the boys in our society, feminism also strives for inclusion.
Supporting Evidence: “By stifling boys’ humanity, we do a great disservice to them in the way we raise them.”
Topic sentence 3/Opposing Viewpoint: A lot of people may contend that, in general, the term “feminism” excludes inclusion and therefore widens the rift between people.
Topic phrase 3/Opposing Viewpoint: A lot of people may contend that, in general, the term “feminism” excludes inclusion and therefore widens the rift between people.
Supporting Evidence: “I take it to mean that they see extreme differences between men and women and not so much our similarities when someone says they’re a feminist.”
In conclusion, restate your argument and discuss the significance of the subject.
All things considered, feminism’s role, influence, and impact may benefit everyone by bringing challenges to light and encouraging those who do so to work for change. This is necessary to address the problems associated with women’s roles as well as the harm that these roles may do to men over time and to comprehend what society as a whole has to do to change.
First topic sentence: By defining positions according to certain genders, feminism enables us to start a dialogue about the imbalance of power that gender has caused.
Topic: Feminism
Audience: Feminist/Non-Feminist
Intro: (hook, intro to topic, thesis statement)
Feminism is a movement that their goal is to stablish equality of rights and opportunities for men and women. Feminism addresses issues of equality and equity based on gender, gender expression, gender identity, sex, and sexuality. It empowers women to recognize their full rights. In general, the feminist movement aims to eradicate sexism, sexist exploitation, and oppression, and to attain complete gender equality both legally and in practicality.
Topic sentence 1: Women have less opportunities in the work environment than man
Supporting Evidence: “There’s slightly more women than men in the world, about 52% of the world’s population is female. But most of the positions of power and prestige are occupied by men.”
Topic sentence 2: Males are always teach to don’t be vulnerable
Supporting Evidence: “We define masculinity in a very narrow way, masculinity becomes this hard, small cage and we put boys inside the cage. We teach boys to be afraid of fear. We teach boys to be afraid of weakness, of vulnerability.”
Topic sentence 3: The movement that looks for equal rights should be called “equality” instead of “feminism”.
Supporting Evidence: “You don’t have to be a feminist or use the word feminist to want equality.”
Conclusion: Feminism is a movement that seeks for equality
Of rights for both genders. The also address the gender issues in the society. This topic matters because is a topic that is really popular and debatable nowadays and is an issue that have to address.
Intro: (hook, intro to topic, thesis statement)
Coming into this world people aren’t treated equally or seen as equals. In order for someone to retain their independence from an individual they must fight for who they are as a people. In this case it’s the fight for women’s rights but more specifically equal rights. See feminism is a movement used to achieve more equal opportunity for women, while some may agree on the movement or disagree, others may feel going about it at a different approach would better achieve the common goal of equality. We should all be feminist because women aren’t treated as equals to men.
Topic sentence 1: Feminism opens people up to hearing the hardships of being a woman in this day and age along with the many misconceptions it carries.
Supporting Evidence: “Women are unhappy because they cannot find husbands”
Topic sentence 2: The language we use can cause people to focus on the differences rather the the common goal
Supporting Evidence: “Gender qualifiers get in the way, and so does feminism”
Topic sentence 3/ Opposing Viewpoint: Some may argue that in order to achieve the ultimate goal of equality we must first change our language in which we use because things such as gender and race cause us to focus on the differences rather than the end goal. While this may be true it leaves out the ultimate history behind why these words were used and ignores the suffering that people go through.
Supporting Evidence:”They may feel that it does a disservice to the feminist movement or that we devalue women
Conclusion: (paraphrase your thesis, thoughts on topic)
Overall feminisms have a big impact on society as a whole and while some may feel about how they achieve such a goal it’s important to recognize the suffrage behind it so it doesn’t come off as ignoring the history of suffering for that group of people. In real life you see differences all around you, despite our differences we can focus on why we are all here and make a positive change in our society.
Topic: Should we all be feminists?
Audience: People who are wondering if they should be Feminists or not.
Intro: Calling oneself a Feminist has meant different things to many within the movement throughout the entire time the word has been created. Betsy Cario believes the term is outdated and causes more division compared to equality and that as an idea it is strong, but strictly calling it feminism can be exclusionary. Alternatively, Chimamanda Adichie believes a feminist is anyone who sees the inequalities in gender. When one is trying to discern whether they want to label themselves as a feminist I believe it is worth it to see both sides of the argument. Yet, we should all be feminists because with all the issues that lie between genders, to be able to see and notice the problems within them is the only way to move forward and reach equality.
Topic sentence 1: In Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s TED Talk “We Should All Be Feminist”, she shares her real-life experiences of facing sexism and explains how sexism is deeply rooted in society and cultures, not only in America but globally as well.
Supporting Evidence: “But why do we teach girls to aspire to marriage and we don’t teach boys the same?” (Adiche 7).
Topic sentence 2: In Betty Cario’s TED Talk “Why I am Not a Feminist”, she protests against the idea of calling the want of equality “feminism” due to it being exclusive, polarizing, and outdated.
Supporting Evidence: “Gender qualifiers get in the way and so does the word ‘feminism'”( 15 Cario).
Topic sentence 3/ Opposing Viewpoint: While both orators pose great views on their thoughts about Feminism Cario’s case falls flat.
Supporting Evidence: Cario mentions “When someone tells me they’re a feminist, I take it to mean that they see extreme differences between men and women and not so much our similarities” (14 Cario). While Adichie raises an amazing point of “Gender Matters. Men and Women see the world differently” (9 Adichie). By raising the point that different genders see the word much differently it demands that we see them as an important part of feminism. If one does not see the differences and focuses too much on the similarities we do not see the real issues that lie between them.
Conclusion: We should all be feminists because we all can see flaws in the way we were raised to believe that there is an unfixable inequality between the genders of men and women. By being a feminist we can examine the issues and differences and come to a point of equality where our differences are not only noticed but solved. To want equality and not call it feminism is almost an oxymoron. Anyone can be a feminist. Everyone should be striving for equality.
Topic: misconceptions of feminism
Audience: anyone
Intro: (hook, intro to topic, thesis statement)
Hook: feminism is a topic that has been talked about over many years. Many people have their own definition of feminism. feminism has to do mainly with the unfair treatment with women compared to their male counterparts.

thesis statement: how do the misconceptions of feminism affect it? It can cloud someone’s judgment and pull them away from the true meaning and make it easier for people to have misconceptions about feminism.
Topic sentence 1: people have misconceptions of feminism, thinking it has connections to persons feelings.

Topic sentence 2: people have misconceptions of feminism, thinking, if it has connections with their culture.

Supporting Evidence: “when someone tells me they’re a feminist, I take it to mean that they see extreme differences between men and women and not so much our similarities.”
Conclusion: (paraphrase your thesis, and explain why this topic matters)
To have people more in form on the topic, feminism, and the misconceptions that other people have on it.
