Midterm Paso I
Write a reflection of approximately 200 words on ONE of the following topics:
OPTION 1: Where do you see Spanglish in your daily life and in your community? How and when is it used? Who is speaking it? What does it mean? Do you use it, too?
OPTION 2: What languages are blended in your community? What are some examples of these blended languages? Who, when, and where do you see the blending happening? Is it considered better or worse, easier or more convenient?

Una vez que menti
Describe una vez que mentiste. ¿Qué pasó? ¿A quién le mentiste? ¿Qué le dijiste? ¿Esa persona supo la verdad? ¿Qué hizo cuando supo?
En el supermercado
Escribe sobre la última vez que compraste algo en el supermercado. ¿Cómo llegaste (caminaste? tomaste el metro?) ¿Qué buscaste? ¿Qué compraste? ¿Cuánto pagaste? ¿Encontraste a gente allí?
Por ejemplo: Yo fui al supermercado el lunes. Yo caminé al mercado / Llegué caminando. Busqué (Fui a buscar) leche y huevos. Al final, compré helado, huevos y galletas, pero no compré la leche, porque no encontré el tipo que me gusta. Pagué MUCHO! Todo es muy caro ahora… No encontré a nadie.

Take a photo of something strange/unusual/fantastic that you see this weekend. Write one sentence describing what happened in the photo (use the PRETERIT).

¿Cómo comenzó?
Describe un momento que te cambió la vida. ¿Cambiaste de trabajo? ¿Te mudaste a otra ciudad? ¿Decidiste estudiar en BMCC? Narra la historia de qué pasó.
Por ejemplo: Yo pasé tres años estudiando matemáticas. Faltó un año para graduarme. Un día, pensé que ya no me gustó! Cambié de concentración y comencé a estudiar español. Terminé el programa de literatura española. Entré a la escuela graduada. Decidí hacerme profesora de español. Así comenzó mi carrera profesional! Trabajé para 4 escuelas diferentes hasta que encontré BMCC. Y estoy allí todavía!
