OPTION 1: Where do you see Spanglish in your daily life and in your community? How and when is it used? Who is speaking it? What does it mean? Do you use it, too?
OPTION 2: What languages are blended in your community? What are some examples of these blended languages? Who, when, and where do you see the blending happening? Is it considered better or worse, easier or more convenient?

“Speak Your Truth” Open Mic Night
February 28 at 6:00 pm – 8:15 pm | Richard Harris Terrace
Speak Your Truth Open Mic featuring multidisciplinary artist J. Jehriko Turner and poet Mpingo Waridi Uhuru. Share y/our poetry, spoken word, songs about Black experiences, intersectionality, gender, sexuality, and community. Speak your truth in native tongue(s). Original work and readings of published AfroDiasporic writers are also welcome. Refreshments will be served. Open to BMCC and the wider community so spread the word! RSVP and/or sign-up here:
