Some families being affected cause miss out on important resources and support services that could benefit their child, they can be stressed because sometimes they can control the situation with their children.

When schools and families fail to work together, it’s hard to craft individualized education plans and interventions that meet the child’s unique requirements. This lack of teamwork can hamper the child’s academic advancement, and it might also affect siblings as family resources and focus shift towards addressing the special needs child’s challenges. Often, In NYC children with special needs bear the brunt of the consequences caused when collaboration is insufficient, these children may not receive the essential assistance, adjustments, or interventions to address their unique needs leading to long-term negative outcomes. It affects the minority community such as Hispanic, immigrant and black group. Also, this issue affect the families that face low income because they don’t have the resources to get the necessary access.
The intervention of children must be addressed in the first years of life, immediately parents/families notice some type of anomaly in their children. It is evident that parents and the special education center must act from an early age and offer adequate support, children cannot have negative consequences. Age should be addressed around infancy (infants/toddlers). The plan is to provide teacher advice to parents, resources, talks and training to enhance special education. Doing weekly monitoring on how the parents manage and treat the child, address complications that arise at home, and how the educator can provide advice to the parents. Advocate that parents could have more preparation and comfort with their children with disabilities, disorders or anomalies since they lack that foundation of their proper case and they do not know how to take the necessary actions to help them improve or simply keep them in good condition.
