The 4-1-1

Welcome Fall 2021

Hello,

I am so excited to be working with you.

Please take a moment to enjoy The Welcome Video.

As you prepare to get started for the semester please take some time to make sure you are set up in Blackboard and have access to your BMCC email account. Explore and make sure you understand where everything is. The following video will walk you through best practices for using BB, accessing assignments and submitting work.

The 4-1-1, this is where you will see announcements reminding you what is due and when.

The HeART of Public Speaking, this is where you will see the Course Guide, Syllabus, Assignment Details, Videos, Sample Work and Templates.

The Quizzes, this is where you will go to complete and submit your quizzes via Blackboard.

The Discussion Board, this is where you will submit ALL Assignments/Speeches via Blackboard.

The Instructor, this is where you will find my contact information.

All of this is also located on Blackboard as well as on our course site on the BMCC Open Lab.

If you are working from a phone or tablet it may be easier for you to access information via The Open Lab. The course is public so you should be able to see it whether you have set up a profile or not. That said, I recommend you setting up your Open Lab profile as a great way for you to connect with other students in the class.

Please review some “Strategies for Success” to ensure you get the most from the course.

I look forward to working with you and if you are feeling anxious or nervous about public speaking, remember,
