Good Afternoon,
Many of you have some very powerful and timely topic ideas for your Persuasive speeches. I cannot wait to see them come to fruition.
A few reminders,
– Your Informative and Persuasive speeches require an outline, slideshow and work cited, at least 3 sources in MLA format
- Speeches should be between 4 and 6 minutes, no more and no less. Practice, time yourself, choose wisely what to include and what not to.
- You are the expert, talk to us, convince us, tell us a story. DO NOT READ from your slides.
- Use images, video clips, refer to your sources and use some of the tools and techniques you analyzed in your mid term to make your point clear.
- Review MLA format for your Work Cited page.
– You should record yourself presenting with your slide show visible. There are several ways to do this. One method is explained in the following video which is on BB and the Open Lab for you.
– Here are some samples, these are also available for you via BB and the Open Lab site.
Many slide show formats like Power Point have a video feature built in that you can use.
If this is not possible, try setting your phone up, sideways and situate yourself where we can see you and the slides, it may be close, but do the best you can. Then you can present with your slides and record from your phone.
Here are a couple of examples. The more of you we can see the better. Do the best you can.
For next week,
Week 15 Passion-Persist-Persuade If something is important to you, don’t give up. Keep trying new tactics to inform and persuade in a positive and persuasive way.
