    a) Aleeza stood up straight to the audience and did a lot of hand gestures. Then her voice got louder as she was saying she was brown and it seemed to at she was very proud to say that.

    b) Kwong also had a lot of hand gestures but he did seem nervous his smile was that smile you make when you’re nervous but he also seemed excited at time because at some points his voice got louder and he also made great eye contact with the audience

    ALEEZA KAZMI VIDEO
    – She was doing a lot of hand movements. Like she pinched her fingers when she was talking about the oil pastels and how they felt in her hands.
    – When she was talking, she would use different tones in her voice. When she was excited , her voice was a bit more high pitched to show the excitement.

Aleeza Kazmi is really expressive when she tells her story. As she was speaking her voice and words picked up as she got excited to tell a certain part of her story. She uses her hands to express her emotions to her story. When she talked about finding her voice she smiled as she tells how it happened drawing the audience in. Kwong Yue Yang also uses his hands to help tell his story. When he talks about shapes of objects he provided an image with his hands so that the audience gets the point. He also looks for eye contact from the audience when he makes a joke to confirm the laugh. Kwong also took his time telling his story.

    Video 1 –
    – She said “um” a lot which showed that she was nervous and she used her hands while talking.
    – She expressed her emotions really well when she started to talk about how she defended herself. “You don’t get to tell me what I am, If I tell you I’m brown just take it.”

    Video 2 –
    – His voice was shaky in the beginning and he was fidgeting a lot. He used his hands to speak as well.
    – He uses humor throughout to connect with the audience which gave his narrative a personality.

1st video : She mover her hands in a way that grabbed my attention. She also shook them a lot. Towards the end she raised her voice more compared to her low voice at the beginning of the speech.
2nd video: He expressed slightly exaggerated gestures throughout his body. He said there are 3 people that inspire us in our lives and then listen those types of people.

    “I was a young Picasso”

“To be accepted by the other kids”

In the first video the speaker intensified her hand gestures to show passionate she was in that specific portion of the story

The speaker was very shaky with his hands and had them in a similar position throughout which I think showed how nervous he was to share his experience

    A) Alezza showed emotions through her body expressions, like smiling, moving her hands, and moving her body around . When she moved her hand it didn’t look like fidgeting but showing emotion and expressing what she is talking about and how she felt/feels.

    B) Coung controlled the audience and story by keeping a smile and by using the right attitude. He also went into small details to give us the right image and situation so we can be there with him . He looked around the room a lot and looked calm

In the first video the girl was speaking with confidence and knew what she was speaking about but her speed limit is very fast and she was using her hands a lot during her speech which helps wit her confidences.

In the second video the man was speaking with less conferences at first in the beginning but then through out the story he took his time and let the people die gestures the funny story before he was able to speak again and the crowd reactions really gave him the confidences

During Aleeza’s performance I noticed how expressive she was with her body and face, an example was her eyes looking down to express how she felt in the moment when her teacher told her to pick a different color. Aleeza also used small details to highlight her main point which worked very well such as when she mentioned it was on her third try of drawing a self portrait that she had felt the most confident with her work, and thats when she got the disappointing news.

Kwong Yue was very interactive with his crowd which i saw to be very effective for crowd engagement, such as making eye contact with people in the crowd after explaining how her felt as if say ” you know the feeling im talking about” and during his story he also used a cool trick of telling his but leading story in a direction and then not stating the obvious.

    1. Aleeza didn’t slouch. She used a lot of hand gestures to engage the audience and make them laugh, but this resulted in them/Me not understanding her actual story because she was telling it too quickly, which could be a sign of trying to hurry up and get off stage.

    2. Kwong was very detail oriented, but he did show signs of nervousness by crossing his hands the majority of the time. His voice was cracking also.

    A) The girl from the first video, Alexa spoke very clear and had an open and inviting body language towards the audience as she spoke. She was very descriptive in the way she explained her story, the way she would speak about her emotions thinking back to the interaction with her teacher when she was 6 and how that was the moment she thought about when she was in the 6th grade and had the interaction with the boy and was ready to defend herself

    B) Kwong from the second speech/video was visibly nervous yet also trying to be engaging towards the audience as he spoke. You can see he was shaking a bit with his hands intertwined however as he continues to perform the speech you can tell he gets more comfortable and willingly engaged to the audience and is making them laugh

Aleeza kazmi would have her body more open and neutral to the audience.when she talks about the teacher telling her that it was her color she was confused and frustrated about how the teacher told her she isn’t peach.she would have a grudge toward the situation since when her classmate asked what race she was she thought about her teacher telling her she used the wrong color.she would raise her voice and say “you can’t tell me what race I am”.when kwong yue yang was speaking he would cross his hand and start stuttering when talking about Jackie chan

Aleeza was having her body in an open and receiving posture, you could tell she was calm and giving the story in her own words, she makes it seem easy but she is showing public speaking control, no hands together, not looking down, and overall a great speaker.

When Aleena Kazmi says she watched “the oil pastel melt into the paper”, she puts her hand, that she was mimicking a drawing motion with, down and begins to stare longingly onto an invisible canvas. Her gestures in that moment helped me visualize the memory she was describing.

Kwong Yum Yang’s speech was slightly more frantic & awkwardly paced, but it felt very on-brand with his cadence & personality. The authenticity & seemingly unrefined nature of his performance made it resonate more with me than Aleena’s and I believe that speaks to the importance of coming across as genuine when you’re public speaking.

Aleeza repeatedly puts her hands together and softly flaps it. She is very detailed when describing the color brown by describing it as a “nubby” color. She is passionate about wanting the public to know that she still doesn’t fathom how a color can belong to someone, as the says it three times. Aleeza continues to being thorough when describing her “peach colored friends”. She is very detailed.

When she asked her mom about why her color couldn’t be peach but instead brown she has a face of confusion , frustration , upsetting and had open hand gestures which showed confusion , and moments of crisis .

The body language that Aleeza showed was when she was describing her feelings towards a piece of art she did and even called it a “grotesque monster” showing her clench her fists. She then mimicked the way she would beg her teacher not to hang it up, showing a lot of emotion and a lot more hand gestures than usual.

Aleeza Kazmi when saying she was brown she threw her body forward with her arm out kind of like in a motion I own this skin this is my race. She was very descriptive when telling her story, she would bring back conversations showing body language on how she felt in the moment

While she was speaking, I saw that she was explaining how she was looking for crayons while using her hands. I see she was still mad about the situation and how she was using her face to express it and her hands as well.

    Aleeza kazmi
Her hand gestures showed a lot of frustration especially when she was talking about when the teacher said ” this is your color”. She was confused as to how a color can belong to someone. Aleeza did not know the bigger meaning behind her teachers comment. She also explained every little detail like when she said she loved oil pastels because they would just melt into the paper.

    Kuong Yue Yang
His had was stuck in the air when he was talking about knocking on the door. Also towards the end when he said “I’m over the moon” he was moving his hands a lot showing how exited he was in that moment

During the video, Aliza kazmi seems mellow and unfazed throughout her story, her hands weaving in and out with seamless fluidity… until getting to the memory of her teacher saying “that’s not your color” at which point her calm demeanor is shed as her hands erratically shake around to convey her utter disbelief and confusion at the words her teacher spoke

1 moment i quoted of detail from Aleeza Kazmi’s story is her confusion and stress of not understanding why she must choose a different color she furrows her eyebrows and wailing her arms indicating she does not comprehend why she must choose another color from her friends . shes hurt and does not understand why she must be different and wails her arms in confusion. A specific sequence of words used for describing an emotion in that very moment was hurt and wronged as to why she had to be different from the rest of her friend group resulting a disoriented portrait of herself. a texture she describes is the noby unwrapped nasty crayon in the crayon drawer could not compare to her pastels.

I noticed that Alizza Karmi move her hand according to her words/ emotions. for example when she described the crayon she rubes her hands to described the color. also when she was mad she open her hand like to move away or push away.

Kwong yuh yang tased about being accepted in he’s school. he teach us a lessons. at the beginning he was nervous but at the same time he was confident. he’s hands most of the time was closed which means he was shy. but when he was talking he moves he’s hands to described what happen at the moment/ for example he open he’s hand to described one group pf people and he also he’s emotions was showed by he’s hands movement.

Coung: Coung was able to keep the audience entertained by speaking clearly and slow to keep the audience engaged but he also used his hands to express his story with an idea. When he mention how because he’s Asian and Jackie Chan is Asian, he used one hand to show he’s Asian and then the other hand how Jacky Chan is Asian.

2 the guy goes back and fourth on wanting to be accepted and acts out everything from acting out the stage with his hands to show the height down to showing the stairs off to the side and even a little circle to signify the bowl cut he had.
Another moment was his hands shaking showing how uneasy he felt when it was time to knock on the door

Kwong was very demonstrative with his gestures such as feigning knocking on the door, or sliding into the the seat at the table of the restaurant. Kwong’s details describing the restaurant with the mezzanine and sitting on the table are very specific and utilizes strong sense of sight especially when it comes to color (the Lady in Blue, for example).

The body language that Kwong showed was when he was describing how he felt when he wanted to knock on the door to see Jackie Chan. He explained that he was worried that he wasn’t going to be cool and started to shake his fist, presumably because of the nervousness or sadness he felt at the time.

Kwong Yue Yang holding hand in fist whenever talking about him waiting at the doctor, looked kind of nervous as he was looking around the room whenever he made a joke making sure people were laughing. And his figurative speech of “over the moon” is repeated in his words giving the story some finality as its said in the beginning, then near the end

Physicality: He is moving his hands up and down/ hands are wide open/ his story’s description align with his hands gestures/ As he said. “and then the door opened”, his hands appeared to be opening an invisible door.

Language: “I get his signature, I get his photo, and I’m over the moon” – He is awaking the time he met Jackie Chan by telling his audience what he obtained, and how delightful it was to him.

Kwong was seen as visibly nervous while he was talking trying to recreate his 6th grade self waiting for Jackie chan to come out the room probably from stage fright o just trying to help the audience picture him younger. As he goes on talking he starts to look at people directly instead of just looking around the sky while telling the story showing sign of comfortably and confidence .

1 moment i quoted from Kwong Yue is his feeling of hopelessness. his arms start shaking while in a fist when explaining his fear of opening Jackie chans door. A specific sequence of words describing his emotions were pacing back and forth infront of the door, starring intently for it to open for 2 hours , only to just start panicking and shaking viguriosly from his hands and his knees and the speaker even breaks down from not accomplishing his goal for his popularity.

When Jackie Chan came out and gave him an autograph and took a picture with him his head was held high, his shoulders went up and was out in the air in joy and relief that his coolness was gonna be intact.

    1) When Aleeza was telling her story, I noticed her hands doing the same actions as what she describes. For example when she said she was coloring, she would do a drawing movement with her hand or when she said she was pinching the pastel she also showed that with her hands. Also she was very fast paced and also kept looking at the crowd but looking down as well.

    2) When Kwong was listing what choices his parents gave him, he was using his fingers. Alos when he mentioned “failure” everyone laughed and he put his hands up as in a “yeah dont want that choice”. I also noticed he put his hands together when ever he had the chance which I might infer as a comfort position for him. When speaking he took breaks when telling his story to build up suspense. Also when he mentions he was sacred when knocking on the door, he was doing shaking movements as a gesture.

Kwong was nervous yet excited he was shaking he’s voice, body ,and his fist when he told everyone how he couldn’t knock that door the disappointment on his face he realized his tears won’t help him get what he wanted and he will never be cool as his parents got up and started putting his coats on.

Kwongs voice and facial expressions show a bit of distress and nervousness to me and how much his whole body moves and shakes when expressing himself instead of it just flowing through
