The woman’s hands were shaking as a sign of nervousness. A man touching and moving his shorts to see if he was prepared to jumped (he did not) . Nervous chatter the woman could not keep quite she kept talking as a way to soothe herself. Another man stood completely still I’m guessing as a way to show doubt

    1) The little girl in the video she was thinking about it for a little bit but then she did a little hop and made her body go up and straight and just went for it telling us that she just wanted to get it over with.

    2) Another older women she had her hands on her knee showing she was regretting her decision to clip up to the diving board.

    3) There was a guy that kept on walking back and forth on the diving board and then then he went back down from the ladder that bought him up it shows failure because he gave up on trying to jump.

The people were making themselves small by putting their hands to their sides. Talking to themselves to make them jump. Looking down

In the video the old lady was taking deep breath to try to relax herself from see how tall the drop was from the board.she also put her hands on her knees from her being scared from the drop and second guessing about her decision. The last guy with the girl with him were talking about how they were gonna jump down and staling by checking how tall it was but when the woman saw the man jump down she did it fast from seeing him do it.

Some people were walking back and forth and talking to themselves to keep the thought of less fearful
They would touch their face and cover their mouth
Two of them even stretched trying to get the stress and fear out
And the last one he was frozen in fear while the girl could not stop moving

The lady’s hands were shaking & she ran back after seeing the drop from the board into the water which shows she was scared & when she went down the ladder it was clear that she wasn’t going to do it. Another action I noticed was when the man was shaking his legs as if he was shaking the anxiety out of his body. A lot of the people were talking to themselves as they were trying to convince themselves to do it & not be scared.

    1. Lady in the black swimsuit at the start of the clip bent over and touched her knees which showed that she was uncomfortable and will not jump. This showed her nervousness.

    2. The male that was shaking his feet and hands made it seem like he was nervous and possibly shaking off anxiety before jumping.

    3. The couple at the end of the clip when showed voluntary discomfort. The male was building up his jump by standing that touching his head thinking about his jump. Upon the male jumping the female jump after a few seconds of gathering herself. They both showed nervousness by thinking before jumping.

The poses I mostly go thru are mostly laid back or relaxed ,but also always ready in a way, in my own life My job requires me to be seated at a computer but also be strong enough to ship out packages to ups , so I feel like u can relax in a way but stay alert to a point where ur ready for any task at hand

The kinds of poses I use every day is like slouching when I’m sitting. Most of the time when I sit like that I’m thinking. when I’m standing, I usually be up straight my face it’s a resting point which make me look mean, I guess. so, a lot of people don’t approach me.

In my everyday life, I’m a mixture of open and closed body language. If I’m in the moment and engaging, I’ll convey a open body language. If I’m uninterested or uncomfortable, I have a closed body language. Others might say I’m insecure when I have a closed body language, while others might perceive me as the leader of the pack when I have a open body language.

What kind of body language do you find yourself in through out the day?
With my arms crossed, legs crossed, leaning back in my chair, hands in my hip

People might see it as rude or not paying attention or I’m annoyed But I see it as I’m relaxed and just in my own zone.

I sit my my legs crossed, hugged to my body frequently. I think this is a learned body position from growing up in a household of women, as this is seen as traditionally “female” body posture. I think in a way its a self-protective stance as it communicates a very visible boundary. I don’t feel one way or the other about it personally.

Throughout the day it depends on what I’m doing I can be really open but close, just for the fact that I like to pay attention to people that’s why I tend to have a close posture, but I feel I’m actually open because I’m taking space by paying attention to others and their body language so I can have a correct and logical answer to what they saying. Think of me, as a lion who is open ready and pay attention to everything around ready to take action lol

A body poses I would show, is that I show other people with respect. and when a person talking have the best body control, so they know that u is listening. the reason why, because u want the same respect, nobody wants to have somebody lay back and they are having a seriously conversating with u.

I always sit forward and put my head on my hand while sitting how I ever I want and most people think I don’t pay attention due to the position I’m in and expecting us girls to sit in a proper way and if you don’t they say they are not women or not doing how they suppose to. It makes me feel like if I keep up with this type of position people will think is like my sleeping position or not care at all.

My body language is generally laidback, bordering on lazy most of time. I think due to this, people interpret me as easily approachable & seemingly without a care in the world. I deal with anxiety quite well in my day to day life but almost never assume powerful positions, even during activities I’m exceptionally good at. I think this translates perfectly into my body language, legs stretched forward & leaned back into my chair. When I’m walking, the message is less obvious but I do think I carry myself with an air of being in my own world while I’m walking.

So I’m a medical assistant and due to my job performance, I need to be assertive and display myself powerful to be taken seriously and with my confidence. I’m also able to help the patients feel re-ensured and safe while I prep them for the provider. I mainly use power poses and use hand gestures that make me seem larger physically to ensure dominance because there be times when patients try to be rude and take control of the scenario which I can’t allow.

The body language I use everyday is open out. i don’t like crossing my legs. I like to move around a lot. my arms are cross or are open up doing something. It makes me feel good. it makes me feel like I can do anything. it makes me feel like I can do anything. and well I believe people look at me and they see I’m comfortable. very possible about myself.

The body language I use on my day to day life is kind of a slouch with my arms crossed, closed off. It makes me feel relaxed and calm when I’m in this state. Others would perceive it as a person who could be intimidating or careless but I personally don’t mind if people see me that way. It really depends on who I’m around.

I would say I am a person who has multiple uses of code switching especially within body language. During school i’m one of those kids who sit all the way in the back but also pays attention to class and will participate. Also when im in class I sit very laid back when the lesson is being taught but during classwork and discussions thats when ill sit up, fix my posture and start participating. That being said people may perceive me as a the lazy non focused student when in laid back in my seat but then will think differently as to when I fix my posture, pick up my shoulders and to start being more conservative.

the types of poses i use in my everyday life is straight forward, level headed directly at the person i am looking/ talking to. i tend to cross my arms or legs however i feel as though people still perceive me to be still dominant with my directness and visual straight posture. I feel comfortable with any outcome that follows with a persons perspective / outlook of me as long as i know i am comfortable in my position of sitting or standing. the type of body language i use mainly is direct eye contact with the person in front with a smile or acknowledging facial expression and carry myself even when folding myself up because it is my natural pose.

The kind of language I use in my everyday life is either open and freely with my arms out and my head high. Other times I find myself shying away when I get anxious/ anxiety around group of men and I look down at my phone to block them out. It affects how I feel by either making me feel confident and secure or closed off. Others probably perceive me as introverted.

In the beginning of the video the first two girls the one of the left took her time to step up to the board indicating she doesn’t want to.

A short while after the first boy we see takes two steps forward to to at the water than backs up maybe leaning towards not wanting to jump.

After watching about two minutes in the only person to jump off the board was the smallest person maybe they just have to confidence and believe that everything will be okay

The man in the black shorts was psyched out and took to much time to think about it and ended up not jumping

    1. The lady in the blue full body bathing suit seems anxious because she steps back steps forward, looks away, and touches her head.

    2. The guy with the black shorts is thinking about it. He’s looking down and biting his fingers. When he almost jumps he makes a comment referring to how high the tower is.

    3. The guy with the blue shorts says that “his knees are shaking” He feels nervous.

    1) Anxiety because it is hard and you can’t even move no matter how bad you want to
    2) bravery because at first it was scary but then once you talk it thru and make it less scary then you move forward to it
3)Giving up because no matter how hard you try to find a way to make it easy you end up not going and not face the fear

One of the first couples repeatedly touched their face in anticipation of jumping. To me, this seemed to signify nervousness and an attempt to “ground” themselves through the sense of physical touch. Touching their face signaled to themselves that they were still standing, present on the diving board. The older woman frequently inhaled through her nose, and out her mouth, a very common technique to steady one’s nerves. And the last man, who did not jump, approached the edge of diving board each time with his feet turned out, and flat footed. To me, this looked a like an attempt to “fake” a confident approach in the hopes of giving himself the nerve to jump.

Hands behind back indicates uncertainty or nervousness, which is easily understandable given the task.

looking down at the platform theyre on shows how they dont believe they can do it, but looking down at the water is them staring the problem in the face, showing power.

standing straight and tall vs pacing around, most pacing around as theyre high energy but also high dominance as they want to psyche themselves into it, with some participants even telling themselves they got this.

-The second guy after the skinny man was in the back of the board looking everywhere just looking around trying to stop him from looking at what challenge is suppose to face
-There was one man stretching pumping his chest showing that he was not afraid of the challenge he was just stretch first to get it over with

In the 10 meter tower, the three body language I noticed were head between legs as if to hide from the fear, the touching of neck/face and self hugging to provide self comfort but didn’t work and finally the bending over poser which show low power posture.

Three body languages that show are fear ,the fear was clearly from the height of the board .

Sweat we can see the people wiping there forehead several times showing us that they’re nervous ,scared ,

we can also see that most of the people got shaky knees which shows us that our bodies try and shut down a way for the body to protect its self ,this can also be seen when they turn around back and forth making the decision weather to jump or not

    – The woman who dove backwards, you could see how loose and relaxed her body was. A sign of true calmness & confidence.
    – The two friends jumping became such a contrast of one another after the first man jumped. You could see his friend shrink even farther into himself after it was only him who had go, pulling his arms to his stomach & turning his back to the diving board
    – The older one woman seemed to fight herself, her body language switching from relaxed to tense & bending down multiple times.

1.) Two guys, one guy was standing at the far back with his arms crossed. He was pretty adamant on not jumping. The other guy seemed confident with his stance, standing near the edge. He already jumped so he thought it wasn’t so bad so he’s trying to convince the other guy that as well.

2.) A girl was pretty close to the edge but had her arms crossed and played with her hair often. She was clearly very nervous on jumping especially when she was trying to pep-talk/hype herself up to jump.

3.) A guy was walking back and forth on the diving board, had his hands on his hips, thinking about it. But then walked away and went down the ladder.

    3. other people who was standing up straight and just went for it. those were the people who didn’t think about it they just did it out of impulse. because if they knew if they thought about it even for a second, they weren’t making it down.

the three things I saw in the video that the whole class watch was, one male was scared to jump inside pool, he was telling himself he can do it, but he didn’t have the power to do it.

it was another person that brought a person with him on top, but his friend jumps off with no thinking at all, once he finished jumping off, he wanted to do it again.
and told his friend it not that bad, and you will enjoy it.

and this old lady was thinking of jumping off, but at first, she was scared to get close to jump off, but she had the guts and the confident.

One guy started off good. He’s body was excited, he’s arm were open, he’s legs were open and moving around a lot. Which tells us he got it he feels comfortable. He’s not afraid. On the other hand the other guy started bad he’s arm was close. He look down and cover he’s face he started to laugh which tell us that he’s not comfortable. He’s scared, nervous all of that. I notice this one women who stayed in the corner with her legs closed, arm cross and a lot of movement. She stayed at the corner and that tell us he’s scared, nervous.

Three different moments in “Ten Meter Tower” when a person’s body language communicated how they were feeling was when one man squatted, put their hands on their head and lowered their head. I seen through his body language that he was afraid and conflicted. Another was when a woman had pushed one leg ahead of the other to go into the water, her position when jumping was off because she was not confident in her decision to jump, she was scared and forced herself. Lastly is when one woman kept trembling as she kept trying to jump, it showed she was very scared and truly didn’t want to jump.

    Three moments from the video
    1) The couple going back and forth trying to stall time. You can noticed the guy is very jittery and also rubbing his body and bedding down trying to overcome the fear, his girlfriend also very jittery trying to shake her hands and stretching her legs as they were shaking.

    2) There was a girl who just went for it she walked up and checked it out and just said let’s get it over with.

    3) The guy and his friend, at first he was very scared going back and forth and was also rubbing his arms up until he just went for it and after doing it he went back up and his body was much more calmer than before. shoulders up and with much confidence was telling his friend to make the jump, as if it was a peic eof cake. His friend ono the other hand was up against the railing, holding onto it and keeping to himself.

I feel that their decisions were hard to make not because of them overthinking it but also as a natural instinct as humans. Almost as a fight or flight response. Our minds are telling our body you know we aren’t meant to go throw ourselves of ledges, we are walking mammals meant to stay on the ground. But then of course the fact of overthinking makes it worse where they could be thinking of getting hurt or if they wouldn’t make it out the water.

body language that I use in my everyday life would be naturally holding my arm behind my back when I have to stand neutral, I crack my neck very often and sometimes fidget with my clothing. in the video three key moments of body language that I noticed was a woman holding her hands behind her back, a man was fidgeting with his shorts and another man had his hands fidgeting with his mouth these were all body languages as they were deciding if they were going to jump I can’t make a decision on whether or not it was a comfort position of body language to ease the nerves or a sign of their nervousness itself
