How did this get lost. There is a clear inspiration from one of Coppola’s classic but forgotten films, The Conversation. I’m calling it the best reboot of the year.
Just an engaging and well crafted film. I wish I could show the leaving the loft sequence to my friends to explain every time I didn’t make it where I should have been.
Too bad Harrison Ford was to busy making the cute sitcom, a cameo in the reboot would have been epic.
I’ve always loved the conversation with Gene Hackman. So, I just watched Kimi today after reviewing your list. I thought Zoë Kravitz was great in it. I really enjoyed the film And would recommend it.
I can certainly see how it could be considered a reboot of Copolla’s classic. However it’s just not as good! I say that fully aware that it’s probably a generational thing (Baby boomer here). I miss the slower pace of most 70s films that did not cater to the short attention spans of today.
P.S. Not buying the leaving the loft sequence as an explanation for forgetting your cell phone the other day. L O L
Fair enough re the loft sequence — but that sequence was great. As was the scene with the HR lady. So reminded me of Harrison Ford scene from the Conversation. And when she is in her apartment late in the film felt like the inverse of Hackman freaking out and tearing his place apart.
