SAMPLE ASSIGNMENT AND RUBRIC
Create an audio story (1 – 4 min). You can record your own sounds, narration, music etc. and/or combine them with audio files you find online – make sure the latter are under CC license or in the public domain. Here are good resources for finding audio files online:
- Freesound.org (requires free login)
- Internet Archive: Audio Archive
- Search SoundCloud through Creative Commons
- Royalty Free Music by Ben Sound
The finished piece should be at least one minute and no longer than three minutes, and should combine at least five different audio files. Try to tell a story with a clear beginning, middle, and end.
Carefully review the project’s Grading Rubric
Upload the following to Blackboard:
- Your Audacity project files (the .aup3 file)
- The completed .aiff, .wav OR .mp3 file
- A short statement about your project. You can submit this as a text submission on Blackboard, a Word doc or PDF. Just make sure you address all the points on this template , including the credits for all the audio files you did not create yourself.
