Welcome to Resilient Teaching!

Dear Resilient Teachers,

We’re so happy that you’ll be participating in the Fall 2020 Resilient Teaching workshop!

The workshop begins on Thursday, October 15 with some asynchronous activities on either Blackboard or the BMCC OpenLab. Our first Zoom session is scheduled for Thursday, October 22.

Over the course of the next two months, we will work through the 7 workshop units. Each unit begins with materials that introduce the unit topic(s), a guided online discussion in which you reflect on how the topic applies to the course you are developing, and activities in which you practice using tools and develop specific parts of your course. Each unit concludes with a Zoom session that engages us in conversations that deepen our understanding of the workshop materials and models the use of synchronous tools. Throughout the workshop, you can receive additional support with tools like Blackboard and Zoom by attending E-Learning lab hours.

You may choose to participate in the asynchronous component of this workshop in one of two platforms: Blackboard or the BMCC OpenLab. If you do not currently have access to Blackboard or are interested in exploring alternatives to Blackboard, the OpenLab site is a good option for you. If you plan to teach your course on Blackboard and are currently able to access Blackboard, you may wish to participate in the workshop on our Blackboard site.

To get started, select your workshop platform and locate the workshop site. under My Courses in Blackboard and go to the Start Here area, where you will find introductory information and a video tour of the workshop site.

If you have any questions about this workshop, contact the Resilient Teaching team at resilientteaching@bmcc.cuny.edu.

Thank you for all you are doing for our students. You are:
