    3-The moment I didn’t understand what they were saying was when Mira, before the carnival, complained and threatened Orpheus after having been with Eurydice all night.

    2. “Orfeu e meu maestre” After this Orfeu tells the boys that he is not the first Orpheus and won’t be the last. In the end, one of the boys takes his guitar and becomes the new Orfeu. I think the theme it shows is that even though this is his story as Orpheus, many people can have the same story. Even in different times and places people can be the same. Like the guitar, a role in that story can be passed down to someone else.

    3. I didn’t understand Orfeu and Mira’s relationship. There’s a scene where Mira bought herself a ring and decided they were going to get married, but Orfeu never seems to actually like her. He’s known for being a womanizer/cheater/lover of many, and he shows more interest in Eurydice after the first conversation than he does in Mira during any point in the movie. Yet Mira still seems surprised that he cheats, and still wants to marry him. I don’t understand why he couldn’t just break up with her if he doesn’t want to marry her.

    3. Some moments that I did not understand or rather, I could not find the words to explain, is the ongoing theme of caged birds throughout the film. They’re seen throughout the film and Orefu will sometimes even recognize the irony of birds being trapped in cages. I feel the expression of “saudade” when they come on screen, maybe it’s a comment on confinement or freedom but i can’t explain it fully. Another scene of note was the scene where Orfeu goes in search of Eurydice and enters a hall where paper records are scattered and flying all around where he encounters the janitor who gives him an enigmatic message (of which I fail to remember). It is during this second half of the movie where things take a fantastical turn so I feel comfortable in not really grasping the full idea of many of those scenes, I think you are meant to be lost in your imagination with scenes like this.

    3. I had subtitles on so I understood what was being said in every scene. But in terms of understanding the subject matter, I guess I wanted more reasoning as to why Ofeu hated his partner so much. I know he is the protagonist but she didn’t wrong him at any point in the beginning of the movie. I do not understand why he resented her so much
