Create an audio and/or video recording of one of your poems, and post it here in our Open Lab site. You can record an audio version using any recording app on your smart phone, such as “Voice Memos.” You can create a video version using your smart phone camera, TikTok, or upload to Youtube.
To post your audio and/or video recording on the site, follow the steps below.
1. Save your audio poem as an MP3 file, or your video file as an MP4. Alternatively you can upload your video into your Youtube channel, and paste the url into your post. 2. To create your post, scroll up to the black strip at the top of the screen and click the black “plus” sign inside the white circle. It is located to the right of the course title:
3. In the box that reads “Add title,” type in the title of your poem and add the words “Audio” or “Video”.
4. Click the black square with a white plus sign to the right of your screen. Search for “audio” block, the “video” block, or “Youtube” block, depending on your chosen format. Upload your audio or video poem, or insert your link.
5. Navigate to the right side of the screen and choose the Post Category “Audio and Video Poems.” Never choose anything in the box that reads “Category Sticky.”
6. On the lower right-hand side, go to Featured Image > Set Featured Image > Upload Files > Select File. This will make your picture show in the tile preview of your post.
6. Publish the post by clicking the blue button on the top right. Alternatively, you can save your post by clicking “Save draft” on the top right and publish it later.
