How to submit your exam:
- Write (or save) your exam as a Microsoft Word document (.DOC, .DOCX) in Google Docs, Office 365 or Microsoft Office. Don’t forget to write your name and email address on your exam.
- If you forget to write your name on your exam paper, you won’t get credit for the exam, because I won’t know who wrote it, thus you may fail the class(given that the final exam is worth 40% of the final grade).
- No exams in PDF format will be read or given credit.
- Click on the following link to upload your exam: https://www.dropbox.com/request/WsFzDYExobygFae9cbRu
Grading:
- Your exam will be graded as follows: each question is worth 25 points, 4 x 25 = 100 points in total. Then, your number grade will be converted into a letter grade, following the official BMCC grading sheet: https://www.bmcc.cuny.edu/academics/policies/grading-policies/grading-system/
Things to keep in mind when you write your exam
NOTE: It may be tempting for some, but please do not use ChatGPT or other such stupid, human approximating crutches to write the exam.
- REMEMBER: YOU ALL KNOW SO MUCH MORE THAN WHAT YOU WRITE ON EXAMS! EX: ANSWER A QUESTION, AND WALK AWAY FROM IT. COME BACK 2 DAYS LATER, AND IF YOU FEEL THE URGE TO ADD 2-3 MORE SENTENCES, DEFINITELY ADD THEM – IT’LL ONLY MAKE YOUR ARGUMENT STRONGER/CLEARER. Don’t be cheap with your words!
- This is an open book and open notes exam. This means, when answering the questions, you can use all of the materials available on our class website(by this I mean: lecture notes, assigned readings, and your own homework assignments). However, YOU MUST NOT USE ANY OUTSIDE INFORMATION. ANY OUTSIDE INFORMATION WILL BE NOT GIVEN CREDIT. ALSO, EVERYTHING IN YOUR ANSWERS MUST BE IN YOUR OWN WORDS. No quotes from any of the readings or videos (you must paraphrase, put everything in your own words).
- Your answers to the questions on this exam, are supposed to be in short essay form. This means the typical answer should be in the range of one page minimum(or, 300 words minimum). You exam paper should be written in size 12 font, and be double-spaced. Answers containing 1-2 sentences are way too brief on details, and will probably loose most of the credit.
