The way Liberals see social class as their socioeconomic status. Liberals refer to social class: lower class, middle class, high class, and some add the wealthy class. Differently, socialists see the different class as the working class and the capitalist, or the bourgeoisie and the ploretariat. The working class is every person who works and is dependent of the capitalist to survive with a fraction of the product of their work, the capitalists control and takes over the vast majority of what workers produce. However, many authors have mentioned that if the workers were going to stop working, the capitalists would fall from where they stand in their social class.

Class structures are built a form of dependency, more precisely dependency between classes. Similarly, in our society we live under the basis of capitalist power, control, and decisions over our productive assets, which makes the working class to be heavily dependent on them.

There are some important aspects when conversations about following the socialist understanding of class happen, more importantly, the implication in politics. Every person in our modern day society live depending on capitalists therefore every person is under the disposition of the power of the capitalists. Confronting capitalism and capitalists also might mean to confront power that capitalism has. Secondly, according to the socialist view, there can be an immense change and as a society there can be the possibility of addressing different ways of oppression that exist as a result of capitalism.
