Today, many people believe that the government should do more than just protect property. The government should focus on the people’s well being.
5. In a pure democracy, everyone votes directly on laws where the majority always wins. Madison was worried that if most people agreed upon something, they could take away the rights of smaller or weaker groups. He believed Republicans would better protect the rights of the people.
