1)  Alexander explains that black people or people of color are sentenced to jail sentences because of American abuse of law . She emphasizes the fact that society created these laws to fit the stereotypes made about black and minority communities . This confirms the way other ethnicities view people of color because she also brings up the fact that white people use drugs and cocaine just as much as African Americans but don’t get the same type of punishment. She talks about how when comparing the numbers between offenders in different communities to our jail cell it shows how much racism and unjustness is actually happening. The abuse of law and discrimination against African American

Or people of color shows truly messed up the system is.

2)  Black and Latino people are more likely to be jailed and arrested for crimes white people also commit. The use of the drug in both ethnic groups may be at the same rates or white people may even have a higher rate but As they have the privilege in our society they’re most likely able to either be released on a deal or sent to rehabs vs in other ethnic groups they’re sentenced to years in prison. Black people are more likely to be stopped by police and be antagonized by police just brutally blaming them for a crime they did not commit. This still happens in today’s age . A group of black vous are more likely to be arrested or even killed by cops vs a group of white boys .

3)  From reading the article I picked that the US system is not just about punishing individuals who break the law but it’s about setting up an example for a certain ethnic group. This is a tool used to not only validate stereotypes that’s clearly meant to lower a certain ethnic group but it’s also to keep them in check . Keep them in check meaning to scare them from living freely and to remember that they’ll truly never be on the same level as white people . Additionally the way the US goes about their drug rates issues compared to other countries is completely severe yet we still have a huge issue to this day .
