  1. Hi everyone! My name is Antonique, and my major is Early Childhood Education. I chose this major because I have always had a passion for helping children and families. I am also a mother, which has played a huge role in shaping both my interests and my goals.

Outside of school, I work in home care and I am also building a nonprofit organization focused on supporting children and families. I am especially interested in learning more about how government, policies, and community resources affect everyday people, so I think POL 100 will be interesting for me.

After BMCC, I plan to continue my education while continuing to grow the programs and businesses I am working on. I’m looking forward to learning with everyone this semester!

  4. Hello everyone, my name is Nusrat and my major is Childhood Education.

There are various fields/topics that I am interested in, including, psychology, mathematics, art, and criminology. I would love to learn about them all, however, ultimately, I chose Childhood Education as my major. The reason being, I am currently working with children and would like to further develop my skills as an educator by learning about the different aspects of teaching, as well as how I can better support children in their development. This is the motivation that inspired me to pursue a college education, despite putting it on hold for some years.

As for my plans after BMCC, I intend to move onto a 4-year college and complete my bachelor’s. However, due to my various interests, I’m unsure of what my end goal (major) looks like at the moment.
