-Why do think Southern racist politicians chose to frame their defense of racial segregation through the language of “law and order”? What special advantages was this choice of words going to give them?
They used broader terms or targeted issues that surround or support said race. Without being outright it was translated as their issues would result in equality for all but mostly for them. Hoping to imply a real issue or manner that’ll justify the policies they present as fair and not as racist. Making it as though separating would allow things to continue in a safer environment.
-Do you think the Southern Strategy is still influencing American politics? Give an example supporting your answer.
I wouldn’t be surprised as often as I hear how prejudice some small towns in the south are. Also when speaking of laws per the republicans v. democratic parties I always feel those in power are always ready to push or change laws in favor of people that look like them. While most of them are while some also delusional believe classism and political party equate to race and religion or beliefs.
