Backward Design Resources

Hi afternoon folks,

Thanks for a great discussion today about backward design and to those who volunteered to share their backward design planners. Like jean mentioned, this isn’t just an “OER/ZTC substitute” seminar but an OER/ZTC course redesign seminar. Hopefully conceptualizing your course backwards from intended learning outcomes, to demonstrable knowledge and skills, to assessments and activities, and finally to course content will help inform your selection of no-cost materials.

Here are a couple external resources that came up in today’s discussion. First, thank you to Erica for sharing this resource on plagiarism, courtesy of Indiana University, which came up when we were looking at jean’s example backward design planner.

Second, here is the Open Attribution Builder, which helps you easily cite openly licensed materials that you find. We will discuss the meanings of the different CC licenses on Wednesday.

See you then!
