During the month of June, we’ll be meeting twice a week by Zoom on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:00 – 10:30am, to discuss pedagogy and other topics. Before each Zoom session, there will be activities to be completed in preparation to actively participate; these activities can be found under each week under Schedule in the menu above and also linked in the title of each week below.
Week 1: Asset-Based Pedagogies

- Identify current uses of asset-based pedagogies in courses, including trauma informed pedagogy, open pedagogy, and Universal Design for Learning
- design learning experiences with asset-based pedagogies
- apply learner-centered principles to the syllabus
- Apply universal design for learning to course assignments and activities
Week 2: Asset-Based Pedagogies Continued

- Describe culturally sustaining pedagogy (CSP)
- Identify current and possible spaces for CSP and other asset-based pedagogies in your courses
- Use backward design to plan a class session or unit/module
Week 3: Copyright and Fair Use
Learning Outcomes
- Identify content/materials needed for learning outcomes and learning experiences by applying backward design
- Find open educational resources (OER) for the content identified above
Week 4: Creative Commons, Accessibility, and More
Learning Outcomes
- Choose Creative Commons licenses for sharing own work
- Create accessible documents, slide decks, and videos
