Week 10: 4/4 + 4/6

This is the last week of class before the Eleventy Site projects are due.

Monday 4/4

Eleventy Site Project Rubric

We will go over the Eleventy Site rubric at the start of class.

Example Portfolio Project

Here is the example portfolio project I showed in class (thanks to Minglin):

Walkthrough videos

The recordings from last class didn’t work out so I created some walkthrough videos:

We will leave some time for you to work on your projects and then end the class with pairs to share your progress.

Wednesday 4/6

Today we will start with random pairs to share your progress on your Eleventy Projects.

To prepare for this, be ready to log in to GitPod to show your code and site (if you also can show netlify great too!)

When talking with each other:

  • Talk about what you hope to get out of the portfolio, your goals, what kind of audience you’re looking for.
  • Go through the Rubric and look at each other’s code and end site. Pay special attention to
    • Organization: are the right files and folders there
    • Content: Is the content there, could more images or text help showcase the person’s work better? Is the content reaching the audience the person wants to reach?
  • Also look at Issues and Questions related to 11ty. Are there parts of using or working with 11ty that you or your partner are struggling with? What questions do you have that will help to implement your project in 11ty?

After you talk in pairs, we will come back as a group to talk about any issues/questions that came up.

Then, if there is time, you will be able to work individually on your projects.
