Memory Forest

I made a simple game that makes the player collect a certain amount of memory orbs before the time runs out. I tried adding in an enemy or anomaly but it’s kind of stuck in place. I added the house just to symbolize how a house without the memories you used to remember would look like. The player would only remember his bed and the nostalgia of the TV only but not the people he lived with.

Unreal Engine Update

The empty house symbolizes the memories the player has forgotten. Scattered throughout the house, the forest and caves are memory balls and various symbolic objects that can be collected. I will add an entity that stalks the player in the forest, tormenting him each time he collects a memory.

Unreal Engine Update

I was still deciding on a theme for the interactive map. The concept was to create a small forest where players could interact with abandoned houses or caves that trigger flashbacks of old memories. Players could just explore and interact with elements throughout the forest. I’m still deciding on what the buildings will be like so I only added a statue and a car.

Prince Game Update

To be honest, I feel like this project was difficult, I got a couple of errors as the audio files were muted after switching up the script files to the current one. I expected the game to have more obstacles and platforms to jump but I also had errors in adding more resources. I’ll try publishing my game with a fixed downloadable link since it hasn’t been working right now.

Godot Progress

I added some obstacles, such as a rude stranger smoking while checking on his phone, which affects Prince’s mental health, and drugged needles for now. I wanted to include a manhole that can make the player get stuck in, but I still can’t figure out how to add that. I also included two stray cats that were supposed to be part of the obstacles.

Godot Level Progress

I tried making the first level, which is a city at night. The character Prince, a wanderer struggles from isolation and temptation as bad influences try to ruin his life. The first obstacle was supposed to be a manhole that I should add but didn’t work out. I wasn’t hoping to get stuck on this progress, but my character couldn’t seem to jump, I still tried to add the background, platform, and his jump animation.

Godot Progress

I added trees and a small city to fit the theme for the game. You play as Prince, who suffers misfortunes throughout the game. The character I made was inspired by the “Le Petite Prince” novel.

Published Home Game

I published my short game on itch.io during class. The game explores various interpretations of what it means to feel at home. This can mean having genuine friends, living in a toxic household, cherishing a loved one, or even finding solace in a graveyard that was once called home for others.

Home Bitsy Game

In the game, I added my last room, a cemetery. In this room, the character can place flowers on some tombstones. I also wanted to add a feature where certain items are associated with real life, such as the cassettes labeled with songs, and share emotional connections to the rooms you are in. This game can be interpreted in many ways.

Home (Bitsy Game)

This is a short game about what it’s like to experience room-like homes that can be toxic, but sometimes a person or objects can feel like home, too.
