Character Design

Traxex (left) is my favorite hero from Dota because of her dark aesthetic. Most of the time, heroes embody good things; in games, light colors are used for the characters to capture that. Traxex could be seen as a villain, which is why I love her even more.

Lulu (middle) is one of my mains in League of Legends. I love her versatile style; she can be cute or frightening.

Super Mushroom (right) has a simple, cute, and impactful design.

The Super Mushroom inspired me, and I thought it would be a good idea to make something similar.

I’ve tried to make different variations of Fungi and capture her personality. She is very curious, optimistic but can be very naive.

Because of her naivety, she ended up being poisoned and turned into an evil mushroom.

Character Design – David Frias

The character is Warwick a character from league of legends and soon to be a part of the show Arcane, for the first sprite it’s a sideways angle for a side scroller, this would be a good sprite to use for an action sidescroller or even platformer. The second sprite is similar to how he’d look in a top-down RPG. The last sprite would be for a more chibi style such as something from pokemon. All of them still retain the artistic design of the character regardless of style or angle. I also tried to create different designs for two other characters vi and jinx trying to show how vi is more of a sturdy fighter while jinx is a physically weak character that uses firearms as seen by her giant Gatling gun on her back.

Character Design

Not sure why one photo was saved without a background and the other two did, however, this is my character creation. I recently had a friend who passed away from Covid on Friday (11/25/21) and he was helping me with the animation portion of this class because he was an amazing artist and graphics designer, self-taught. So I made this character to represent my friend, J.R. He was a gentle giant with a smile on his face and that’s two traits I wanted my character to represent so I made him bulky and happy. Just like I’ll always remember my good friend, JR.

Character design – Godel

My character was inspired by dragonball z which is a anima and at the same time, there are a lot of dragonball games, Dragonball Z kakarot, Dragonball Tenkaichi, and Dragonball Xenoverse, there are a lot of dragonball games and I was inspired by the anime because I grew up watching dragonball and I played the videogames back then on PS2, PSP and PC.

These 3 are the different versions of the character I designed which is inspired by the franchise Dragonball, her name is Godel and she is a female sword fighter. I drew them on photoshop and I really liked the look of the third design.

Character Design

I was inspired by the character design in the castle destroyer, and then I wanted to create a more anthropomorphic character, so I made the following characters, which include the anime I like to watch and some of my own ideas

Character Design

I was inspired by the character designs in Castle crashers,Then I imitated the game character inside as inspiration to create my character

Character Design Sheet

Now this was definitely fun. I’ve had the idea of ordinary characters who seem innocent and civil during the day but can secretly be vicious, murderous, whatever leads down to criminal behavior. Here, I have one of my characters who I’ve shown in class a few times with her own two main designs. The regular casual design, and her “cult” design. There’s still more to flesh out with my characters, but the main idea is that this character is just someone who is more than just a friendly bystander. Can’t wait to do some of her animations.

(Oh, and I’ll add her “cult” design sprites eventually. I forgot to make that and add to this sheet.)

Umbreon (Pokémon) - Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia
Umbreon from Pokemon, I personally love the design of this pokemon its simple yet elegant and adorable all at the same time.

My character lil devil, owns and runs a casino in which people bet their bodies and souls. In its default state its just a small round mochi like creature. It stands roughly at a foot and 5 inches. It has a liquid state it takes when its stressed or tired. It also becomes partially liquidous when jumping in for possessions.

Here’s my character design. (This one’s not at all the one I’m working with for my game, but that’s my bad b/c I went ahead).

Anyways… This is Onion lol. Its physical appeal’s inherited from its parents; a carrot and a mushroom.

Onion was glad to become a marshmallow as it continued to grow older and lived happily after acknowledging that, even though its carrot hat broke.

(Did It need a back story? you might ask aanndd NOPE, but could I not give it one)

I liked the character design of Pacman from the Pacman Show because of how his limbs look on his body that the original Pacman did not have also his high top sneakers that are similar to the Back to the Future Nike’s. All things I was considering to add to my Character Design and I feel Pacman’s show design was successful.
The Super Metroid design of Samus is design I’ve appreciated for a while it terms of the amount of detail it has despite being a pixel type design also the amount of angles you see of Samus within the game. The most notable thing to me is the amount of times Samus suit design changes based on the suit she gets. Which is something that has always attracted me within games.
The design of Bemo in Adventure time I liked because it was the first thing to come to mind in terms how similar it’d look to my character. The thing I liked is the system that Bemo is, is very rectangle and bulky and Bemo’s limbs are frail and small yet it is not too visually distracting is something I’d like to replicate.
In my design I wanted to try different things it terms of the size and simplicity/detail would look like on the character. Also possible different body types my character might have based on the ability it poses.
