I was a little bit confused with costumes, but I think I figured it out.
My progress for this week was adding new movement to my sprite and a one-color backdrop. Also, I added new animation and sound.
In this part, three new animations were added to my explosive.
Here’s the sound I chose. I went through several sounds to get the one I liked the most.
Here’s a short clip of my game. It still needs work, but it’s fine so far.
so I have some screenshots of the coding and costume/sounds that i added along with the video of the current gameplay. Although the coding needs some work since I wasn’t able to get a certain part of it to work.
For my updated documentation, I’ve decided to clean up what I previously had before, and make the character walk smoother across the hills and down the hill, and be able to use the bottom as a platform. I’m currently working on the switching of sprites for walking + jumping since I had to reorganize everything.
My next goal, is to give a clear objective or maybe an object to jump over or touch / talk to.
A short demo:
I added new enemy variant and updates sprites
Poisoned Block
Sprite Sheet
Armored Block
Sprite sheet
I also added new codes to the enemy movements and added sound to it.
next to add: Projectile, sound to projectile, sound to wizard, a random spawning variable.
Lil demo of the game being run ( my bad for the poo gameplay) Added a dojo like background to give it more ninja like feel.
Added a new costume for the ninja sprite where he gets hit by the ninja star
Made a sound effect for the ninja getting hit and ending the gameplay and fixed an error that can occur when dashing and dying before the cooldown resets. Lowkey something simple but spent way too much time on.
Added more blocks to help keep my code smaller and simpler while also adding animation for the ninja star and a throwing/whooshing sound effect
I’m experimenting with switching the game to a top-down perspective instead of a side-to-side one, similar to Hotline Miami.
I also added a crude death animation
created a block for some player animations and worked on creating a functional combat system.
Reattempting this blog assignment, showing this first screenshot, I changed the whole idea of the game.
After figuring out the idea I had in mind for my game, I decided to also add a background.
Now, after finally figuring out certain codes I had a rough time with before, I decided to have bombs falling on the target, the objective is to move the character out the way. Here is a mini video of the progress and screenshot of the coding I used.
