When you use a sound file for your project, the creator must give you explicit license to use the sound, or you will not be able to use the sound in our class. Here are some sites that provide free licensed sounds.
Sound Effects (FX)
This is everything from beeps, to explosions, animal sounds to machine sounds.
- Freesound.org (requires free login)
- Open Game Art Sound Effects Link
- Internet Archive: Audio Archive (this is more likely to have collections of sounds in an album, like this one 505 digital sound effects)
Music
These sounds are music that you can use as background music and more
- Incompetech.com by Kevin MacLeod (this is good if you need background music)
- Open Game Art Music Link
- Freesound.org (requires free login)
- Creative Commons tracks on SoundCloud
- Royalty Free Music by Bensound
- Free Music Archive: https://freemusicarchive.org/search
- Music Radar Free Samples https://www.musicradar.com/news/tech/free-music-samples-royalty-free-loops-hits-and-multis-to-download
These are some other sites, but be careful. Not all of the sounds on them are licensed for general use. For example in the YouTube Library, not everything is licensed to be used outside of YouTube.
