Change Composition Size in After Effects

Your AE project requires the following settings:

Preset: HD 1920×1080, 29.97fps

  • width: 1920px
  • height 1080px
  • Frame Aspect ratio: 16:9
  • Pixel aspect ratio: square
  • Frame Rate: 29.97

If you choose a different width and height when you start your project, you will need to change it.

Quick Fix: Manual Resize Objects

This is a quick way that does require some manual resizing of objects.

  1. Go to Composition > Composition Settings
  2. Choose HD 1920×1080 29.97fps
  3. Click OK
  4. Click on each layer that needs to be resized and manually resize it.
    • Note: if your original project was an aspect ratio otehr than 16:9 then your items will be stretched when the resize. For this reason you may focus first on things like solid layers to resize, then look at repositioning other items or scaling them individually.
