Summary
My boxing match themed audio project.
A classic comeback story, this piece taps into the common feeling of wanting to prove our naysayers wrong. We are taken alongside a seasoned boxer who has stepped back into the ring to quiet both his opponent and his detractors. I found inspiration in the almost cinematic quality of live sporting events and the worlds they create. A total of 14 samples were combined to simulate the many-layered sounds of such an intense atmosphere. The tempo and pitch settings were adjusted to assist in lending my voice to the announcer’s character. The envelope tool helped to further stratify this deeply personal moment. While designing this sound, I enjoyed mastering the balance between placing the focus on the elements in the setting and the protagonistʼs dialogue
