As the Oscars approach, I decided to try and see all of the major nominees.  And I did with two exceptions.  I will update if and when I see them.  Several of what I consider the best films of the year do not appear anywhere in the nominations and its a shanda. Here's my ten and thoughts on the nominees and select others below.
