About Me
My interest in helping others stems from a love of volunteering that I have possessed ever since I was a young child. I volunteered in temples, orphanages, schools, and refugee camps. One of my passions in life is learning languages and getting to know different cultures. I used to teach English in my country and help those who couldn’t offer to go to school. I have learned that empathy alone isn’t enough; a specific knowledge or skill is needed to make the help effective. Knowing English was helpful, and many people appreciated my help. However, there were some situations where I felt that I needed to offer more. That guided me to the major of Science for Health to join the nursing program afterward. I still cannot forget the sight of the wounded children who did not receive appropriate health care in refugee camps because of the incapacity of the medical staff, and that’s what pushes me toward my goal even more. I hope to make a difference in my future nursing practice to help others lead healthier lives and positively impact my patients and community.
