About Me
My name is Kossivi Maglo, and I have lived in the New York City area for almost ten years. I am from Togo in West Africa. My native language is Ewe, and French my national language.
Counting the language I learn in school, English is my second language. I like New York City because there is a lot of representation of each culture of the world and diverse foods, especially in Jackson Heights and Flushing.
I graduated with honors from Borough Manhattan Community College (BMCC) in engineering science. I like reading books, but I am not a good writer. However, during a New York Academy of Sciences workshop in the fall of 2020, I understood the need to improve my writing, which will be helpful for research papers.
I am taking interdisciplinary courses to strengthen my writing ability and merge it with other skills. My interest in urban studies comes from the desire to pursue my master’s in urban Sustainability with the motivation that we need more people to get involved in city life as agents of change.
City College (CCNY) is a great school where I can make new friends and connect with great urban studies and sustainability professors.
